Banner Advertising is now available on CandlePowerForums (CPF) and CPFMarketPlace (CPFMP). Advertising subcription packages are available for all members of CPF and CPFMP.

Please read all of the terms, options and policies outlined below before purchasing a subscription package. If English is not your primary language, it is your responsibility to get a translator to help you understand these policies. CPF will not be responsible for translating and will not be liable for your failure to take steps to properly understand these policies. There will be no refunds either full or in part if you fail to read and understand the terms and policies and choose the wrong subscription package.

Definitions:

Dealer: A dealer is a seller that maintains a status with a distributor indicitave of a dealer or reseller, or practices regular and frequent acquisition of sellable goods, and targets CPF's membership as prospective customers, unless granted dealer status exemption from CPF's administration. The use of an outside retail and/or wholesale business website is not necessarily a requirement or exclusion for dealer status on CPF or CPFMP.

Manufacturer: A manufacturer is commercially involved as a maker of goods produced independently of significant input and/or participation/involvement from CPF's membership, and doesn't significantly produce any goods through such significant input and/or participation/involvement. The use of an outside retail and/or wholesale business website is not necessarily a requirement or exclusion for manufacturer status on CPF or CPFMP

Regular Member: You know you don't fall into any of the above categories in any way, shape or form.

General Requirements:

1. The CPF administration reserves the right to review and verify status. The administration also reserves the right to ask for revisions or reject any advertising it deems, in its sole opinion, not in keeping with its standards to include but not limited to content, user impact, distraction factors and other situations as determined by the staff.

2. Each frame of an animated gif must display for at least 2 seconds.

3. All banners should have a hard 1-pixel border.

4. All banners should be sized at 72dpi resolution.

5. Banners may not "Flash" messages that may overly distract the user.

6. All banners that are submitted to CPF via e-mail must be uncompressed (not zipped).

7. ALT (Mouseover) text should be no greater than 10 words.

8. Advertisers must understand that all banners, when clicked, will launch the linked site in a new browser window.

9. Banners must be designed so that interaction with the user only takes place if the user places the mouse within the advertisement area.

10. Flash banners must be Netscape/IE 4+ compliant.

11. We will accept bannerads in GIF, JPEG, animated GIF and Flash formats. Other formats must be tested and approved on a case-by-case basis. Formats that require the user to download plug-ins other than Flash will most likely be rejected.

BannerAd size requirements and restrictions:

1. No larger than 500 pixels wide.

2. No larger than 100 pixels high.

3. No more than 100K.

General Terms, Policies and Information:

BannerAds will be located in a custom box beneath the top navigation bar and above the forum/thread index pages on CPF and/or CPFMP. The banners will rotate with each page change and/or refresh. All banners will be placed in the same "pool" and will rotate at the same rate. Dealers and Manufacturers will be limited to 3 banners in the "pool". (NOTE: The purchase of one subscription package does not include 3 banners. A seperate subscription package will need to be purchased for each banner, with a maximum of 3 subscription packages per subscriber.) In addition, all banners will be listed in The CPF Classifieds for the length of the subscription.

Some subscription packages include additional Private Messages on the site that the subscription is purchased. Further details in the subscription packages below.

The "BannerAd Only" subscription package will be available for Regular Members as well as Dealers and Manufacturers. Regular Members may have banners as long as the advertisement is forum related and is not solely to link to and promote an item for sale in one of the Sell forums at the MarketPlace. There will be other options available for that purpose in the near future. Obviously, it is difficult to anticipate what regular members will want to advertise and to come up with more of a criteria than "forum related". Therefore, each case will be evaluated and either accepted or refused based on it's content and value to the community. Regular Members will not be allowed to advertise for or on the behalf of Dealers and/or Manufacturers.

Once an advertising subscription package is purchased through the Paid Subscription feature on either CPF or CPFMP, send your bannerad with the desired link and ALT (Mouseover) text by email to Sasha@candlepowerforums.com . Allow 3-5 days for the account to be reviewed and the bannerad to be tested. The bannerad will then be placed in the rotation "pool" for the specified length of the subscription starting on the day it is placed in the rotation. Any subscription packages that include posting privileges, those privileges will go into effect immediately.

The CPF administration reserves the right to terminate any subscription and remove any bannerad at any time if the subscriber violates any of the forum policies and/or is suspected of conducting business in an unethical or illegal manner. No refunds, either full or partial, will be given in such instances.

The purchase of a subscription package constitutes your agreement to abide by the forum and site policies and rules which are posted in various places throughout the forums. Ignorance of the policies and rules is not an excuse and will not be accepted as one. As a member of the CPF/CPFMP community, it is your responsibility to know the rules and policies and abide by them.

The subscription packages can be purchased only on CPFMarketPlace.com through the User Control panel and the Paid Subscription feature listed under the Miscellaneous category. Each subscription package will have a brief description of the package as well as a link to this page. "BannerAd Only" packages will also be available on CandlePowerForums.com.
