I believe that is a round crown sinnet (similar to a lanyard knot):
http://www.fusionknots.com/graphics/gallery/knots/Round Crown Sinnet.html

Tons of nice knots on there, I'll have to dig in myself, although I definitely don't like hands-up video instructions (kinda hides the actual built of the knot).

The finish does look slightly different, but different size and hardness rope make for slightly different finishes.

Would be nice if someone could document all the knots used in here :D

what kind of lanyard or style would y'all recommend for a Preon P0 I keep in my car?

I want something that can be tightened around a wrist if need be, but is still fairly compact and won't hang out or dangle all over the place.

Huge amounts of respect going to Stormdrane and others here! Love those metal beads at the ends of the PC!!!

Anyhow some of the lanyards that I have been making are those from 2.6mm nylon which has been coiled and covered in PC sheath outer, 200lb ball bearing swivels at each end and they have been heat shrunk into the leash which was bound and shut tight - I have been making these for friends and peeps at work - but are really hard on the hands to make.

So far so good with retention of the coils and other items that they hold - holds a 175gr Wave when it falls without it touching the ground!

tobrien - they're as professional as I can make them lol. Basically copying a hand gun retention strap as we cant buy them here in Aus, I added the two 200lb ball bearing swivels at each end to reduce any bind and basically when its slow I can twirl anything on the end of the swivels; bit mesmorising when works slow! Thanks for the kind words :D

Costetl - those are the metal beads with the trits I was talking about that are so so so so cool! Can you tell me where you got them eg: hyperlink to the store? Thanks

okay, so about a month ago I was in a convenience store and I found this...

hook-orig.jpg

it was a $5 impulse buy, just because it looked like it could be handy. There was no tag on it, but I dug around and found the tag that had fallen off it. it's called a purse hook. clip it onto your keychain, and then throw the hook around the strap of the bag you are carrying. I figured it would work just as well as a quick throw onto a backpack or messanger bag. The leather on it is a 4 strand round braid, then bound with leather cord. The hook and wrap appear to be some form of steel, and the large hook will bend if you try but it's pretty solid.

now since I like copper things, I wondered about an old piece of 10 gauge solid I had in my metal recycle bin. the insulation had been charred off it and it was almost like black goo on it. it's a little thicker than the original, and bends a little easier than the original, but it's still pretty stout. finished it off with a McGizmo clip after doing a similar 4 strand braid and cord wrap like the original.

I have a TK35, and would like to make a lanyard attached to the light that I can put on my wrist ir clip to a belt loop. Can't anyone head me in the right direction on how to make one? Thanks. I really don't want to have to fork out money I don't have for a book.
