@Guy: Congratulations for all your hard and never ending hard work. I have been very busy with real life :-(, and I was we wondering if you have a better idea of around which date the Ti version may show up?. I do not want to miss it

Did I just hear titanium? I have been laying dormant for something to perk my ears up and get me excited again!

Guy, you have ruined my flashlight fetish, as nothing compares to the multitude of lights I have that you created. Thanks a lot! Now I just wait patiently for you to pull from your insane alien knowledge and come out with new lights.

Looking forward to both the original SS and Ti. Although, if they came at the same time, I might forgo the SS...

Thanks Th8tredude ;)
Will keep you posted as we get closer of course.

Hi cactux,

Thanks for the support
No hard timeline just yet but not far from confirming the critical PCB.
My PCB Chip programming device arrived today, the PCB's to follow in a few more days and then I'll let you know of course ;)

Hi onthelake,

Thanks for the post and really appreciate your kind words.
Your Torpedo X is not too far away now and then there will be ZEUS!

:awman: ... the two magic letters... Ti
Emu, welcome back :)
Yes, and then....
there shall be the ZEUS Ti

Reminds of the bible...

In the beginning there was darkness,
then god made the heavens and the earth
then god said "let there be light!"

many years passed by
then we all showed up and said
"let there be god worthy light!"

btw, just got this photo from the PCB maker as I was typing this post :twothumbs

I thought the God Worthy Light was referenced when he "Gave his only begotten Sun"?

Its risky selling limbs from what I've been seeing. People in the used arms market get in trouble all the time.

Thanks Dale,

No need to head to the black market though because the new Nukes will be black ;)

It's fun, I can guarantee it! I've been doing some mods for a few friends, and have recently built a 3" light with 810 lumens OTF, a 3 1/2" light with 1173 lumens OTF, a couple of C8 sized lights with over 1400 lumens OTF and one or two (or more) with well over 2000 lumens OTF. It's addictive, for sure, and batteries aren't your friend anymore...get good cases for spare batteries to carry in your pocket, you'll be glad you did!

Countycomm.com has nice Delrin battery lockers, expensive but darn near bullet proof. Gotta get a 14500 or two for these Nukes coming our way....

I haven't seen too many flashlights lately that get me revved up but I am pretty interested in this one, especially if my time with the Torpedo goes well... I continue to lurk enthusiastically. ;)

Thanks Dale,
Some impressive work as always!
btw, I'm working on some new battery holders for Zeus, and the HF/HF-R series that can do more than just hold a battery.

Thanks nbp,
Zeus will be born as a stable, killer light (no beta).
The Torpedo X is still beta (the UI part) though I hope it will give you a solid idea of what MBI is all about

Lurker here. Sounds like Zeus will be great. I appreciate excellent design and craftsmanship that displays an understanding of the target audience.

A question just occurred to me though: Will Zeus come with a holster? I prefer holsters to clips, but rarely see well designed, durable holsters. If you do package Zeus with a holster, could you design it without a flap? Undoing flaps is not conducive to rapid removal of lights. Also, you can't invert the light and use the holster for hands-free illumination if the flap is in the way.

That's some good thinking on the requirements of a holster. What did you think about the Surefire Z71 or the Blackhawk Gladius holster? They are well designed for carry in either direction.

+1 a rotatable Kydex holster would be cool. and if you only put one retention dent in it, with the Zeus design, you could vary how deep it carried in the holster which would increase/decrease deployment response times
