Why buy a Surefire headlamp when you can get a Dorcy Pro Series 200 Lumen Headlamp?

I think this might not be the site for you.... There's a torch for every budget.

Just ordered a Tank007 E09 and 4 enelopes for it.

I looked at the E09, but I decided to go for a Neutral White Thrunite Ti3, which I should be able to collect tomorrow :D Finally decided to replace the maglite solitaire that's been on my keys for years!

    Flashing hazards under heavy braking

Quite common in the UK when driving on the motorway. If you have to brake really hard, for example for an accident or sudden slowdown in traffic, then activating hazards means that the person doesn't underestimate how much speed you are shedding. I have seen these on a nearly new hatchback...

eBay LED Light Bar, 30 incher. The stock 60 LED's to 60 Cree XP-G?

I have one of these in a floodlight I built/modified. 6* XML2 in a series/parallel config, driven at up to 2.5A per led. Estimated at 5000 lumens. It (surprisingly) works at rated load without getting too hot (~60 on the heatsink) I connected it up to a load resistor and ran it at full whack for...

    M23 Javelot - When?!

Specifically in the UK. The specs released so far make this look fantastic, but not up on the olight website, and the UK distributor has heard of it, but no word on stock.

Compact, 18650 based 1000 lumen thrower

UK Distributor says they know of it, but no ETA. Best guess is a few months. I think I'll wait a week or two and see what happens. I'm camping at the end of June and I'd like it by then, so I will either do without or get the M20SX

Compact, 18650 based 1000 lumen thrower

Funny enough, I did stumble across the M20SX Javelot the other day and it looked interesting. As a complete package the olight lights appeal to me a lot. Woah, just saw that the M23 Javelot might be around 55kcd. Definitely worth waiting for if it's coming soon!

Compact, 18650 based 1000 lumen thrower

Haha, does that mean they perform better or worse than quoted?! Eagletac has speed of delivery and price on its side, I just think I prefer the armytek in some respects! EDIT: Just done some reading, looks like they can be a little optimistic on their lumens... Hmm. Maybe the eagletac does...

Compact, 18650 based 1000 lumen thrower

I thought that, but it actually had more output, a tighter spit and spill than the s200c2. Only a slightly less intense hotspot, so presumably brighter spill.

Compact, 18650 based 1000 lumen thrower

Typical! only just read this thread again. I've ruled out the Armytek Predator, due to the lower output and very tight hotspot. However the viking V3 has crept onto my radar as well. Downside is it will take 2-4weeks if I order one! Not sure if it's quite such a dedicated thrower too, but specs...

How do you justify buying expensive flashlights?

Pretty much this. I limit how much 'stuff' I buy each month to keep track of the books and keep my regular savings when I want them to be. Outside of that it comes down to: -Do I need it? -Do I want it? -Can I afford it? -Is there something else I need/want more/sooner? I will often deliberate...

    Pizza Delivery

I have one of these, bought for around £2! Fitted with a li-ion 14500 it easily lights up a spot 100m away. Aspheric lens so projects the shape of the die when zoomed in and a flat even circle when zoomed out. Not too bright to be used for close up work when zoomed out. There is a 3 mode...

Compact, 18650 based 1000 lumen thrower

I'd be looking at the non pro v3 anyway with the xbh. As far as I can tell, because of the different beam angles the intensity of the hotspot and spill on both lights will be the same. The eagletac will just have a wider beam. Im leaning towards the eagletac. It will be cheaper and I won't...

Compact, 18650 based 1000 lumen thrower

Predator looks interesting, so many versions though! Pro, v2.5, v3. Also a bit harder & more expensive to get in the UK. Probably going to be between the predator and s200c2 by the looks of it, I'll have to go and watch some reviews! Eagletac: Cheaper more output Armytek: tougher more modes

Compact, 18650 based 1000 lumen thrower

Thank you, that's definitely worth looking into! Big pockets, like combat trouser thigh pockets. Or a belt holster would be fine. I currently carry my 4D mag if I want lots of light quickly, so more compact than that is great! If it lasts fully on high then I'm less worried about a high medium...
