    Inova X1 help

As far as the light not working, the o-ring should have no effect. The problem is that when you dropped the light, the battery dented the contact so that the button on the battery does not make contact. Both of mine have this problem (thanks to the kids) and I have fixed both of them by...

    The poor flashaholics top 10?

Chris, Welcome to CPF! If you do a search for "reflector frosting" you will find information on coating the reflector with clearcoat or cheap hairspray to smooth out the beam and get rid of the artifacts you find annoying (and so do the rest of us.)

    Inova switch problems

Re: Inova X1 failed The force is strong with Yoda. I put a small spring in the positive end, put in a battery, and it fired right up. I will either need to use a battery with a large "nipple" or find a magnet that will fit on the tip of any battery.

    Inova switch problems

Inova X1 failed Is there a common failure mode for an X1? My 4 year old dropped my X1 (gen 2 with nichia 5mm) and it no longer works, even with another light's tailcap. I tossed a Infinity Ultra not knowing I could have done the "screwdriver mod". Thanks, Steven

    My Grandfather's Flashlight

Here you go. One of the head with the bulb removed: And one of the tailcap. The spring is removed, and the spare bulb is pushed into the cap. The o-ring is a round one, not flanged. -Steven

    My Grandfather's Flashlight

This disease is genetic. My grandfather passed away last weekend, and I took an unplanned trip to Texas to bury him. He was 99 years old and was "with it" until the very end. As I sat on his bed and visited with my family, I realized that there were three flashlights within eye shot of the...

New and need your help. BEST D or C cell flashlight ?or something else?

Throw and power come from voltage of the batteries and the ability of a battery to supply a given current. C and D batteries offer absolutely no advantage over AAs from this standpoint. The only advantage they offer is more capacity.

    Low lumen Incan P60

I have a zillion (OK, maybe 3 or 4) incandescent minimags from my pre-CPF days. I have found that one of these with the F04 diffuser is a great nighttime flashlight. Not too bright and very pleasing tint. I keep Eneloops in mine to keep the tint white.

    Inova X5 Question

I'll vouch for that. I took a Surefire battery from my Gen 2 L1 on Saturday after it would no longer run on low. I put it in the X5, left it on, and 72 hours later it is still running.

Need advice on 1st LED flashlight (L2D/L1D ?)

Most flashlights are not that impressive during the day. Wait until after dark and try your new light in total darkness. Take your other Maglites with you and you will be impressed.

    regulated vs overdriven

I am considering selling my A2 to finance an ROP or 1111 build in a 2D Mag. Since both of these bulbs are overdriven by 6 AA cells, I am making the assumption that they will produce bright, white light. How long will these bulbs "stay" over driven with NiMH cells such as Eneloops? If the...

Please help me finding an 1xAA floody light

You don't say how bright you need, but the Gerber Infinity Ultra is a single 5mm LED, and excellent durability and runtime. The cost is around $20 without shipping, and very reliable. -Steven

Another "please help me choose" thread

Please clarify what you mean by wanting multiple modes. If you want to have two different brightness levels, then there are lots of lights that we can recommend. If you want multiple brightness levels, strobes, locater beacons, SOS, etc., then the list gets very very short, and you will...
