    *NEW* Acebeam X70-GT (90,000 lumens)

I agree. There needs to be a significant increase in LED lumens/watt and battery capacity before these flashlights become more than just expensive hand warmers. BTW, I had similar disappointment with my Imalent DT70.

ACEBEAM X70 @ 40,000 Lumens: Coming in June and new price.

Re: 40,000 Freaking Lumens! ACEBEAM X70 Just got a price tag. Imalent introduces the MS12 at 53K lumen and suddenly the Acebeam X70 jumps from 40K to 60K lumens? I'm becoming very leery of these numbers. Anyway, with just 3 minutes before step-down, it's a lot of money for a hand warmer.

ACEBEAM X70 @ 40,000 Lumens: Coming in June and new price.

Re: 40,000 Freaking Lumens! ACEBEAM X70 Just got a price tag. I stand corrected. That changes everything. Put me down for 10 of 'em!

ACEBEAM X70 @ 40,000 Lumens: Coming in June and new price.

Re: 40,000 Freaking Lumens! ACEBEAM X70 Just got a price tag. Given the "astronomical" price, I would hope it has moonlight mode! What's with these prices? The Olight X9R is going for $599 and unless I'm reading something wrong the battery will only last for 3 minutes at 25K lumens - that's...

    Acebeam K65: XHP70.2 dedomed, 6200 lumens, 4xIMR18650, beamshots, compare

Tempting... but looking at some of the beam shots, even the CW version has an annoying yellow corona and overall color temp. I don't think I'll be buying it.

    The word's brightest flashlight yet---------IMALENT DX80 32000lumens

Forget about the strobe... I don't see how this flashlight could be putting out anything even approaching 32000 lumens OTF even if the LED's are being ridiculously over-driven. I checked the specs for the XHP70.2 and the maximum LED lumens are 2015. That times 8 comes out to 16120 ANSI LED...

Why Aren't They Making More High Power (as in lumens) Throwers?

This thread has generated some interesting comments, and I have to admit I lean more towards throw in flashlights. My original gist was that it seems to me that a little less spill and a little more hotspot is doable without violating the laws of physics. Take the much awaited Olight X9 Marauder...

Why Aren't They Making More High Power (as in lumens) Throwers?

The manufacturers seem to be going either towards making high lumen, multiple LED monster flooders, or much lower lumen, single emitter throwers. I own both, but why can't there be a hybrid design that combines the best of both worlds? The only widely available production flashlight I know of...

New X9 - When will it be available?

Big, domed emitters and really shallow reflectors equal a blinding wall of light and no real throw at all. Even what is illuminated in the distance will be harder to see because of the intense bounce back of light from closer objects and the ground. There's a point of diminishing returns with...

Review: Imalent DT70 FloodKing (XHP70 Dedomed, 13K+ Lumens)

I've had mine for going on a month and love it. I'm carrying it at work as a security officer everyday now. 13k+ OTF lumens in their face at night is guaranteed to stun an opponent! And it's heavy enough to do some damage if you hit someone with it. Nice beam tint too. I do think they should...

    TN42vn - Reflector Throw King

Judging from the currents specs of this light (around 3 amps) I would think that any good protected 18650 should work just fine. It would just be a matter of getting higher capacity batteries. Vinh himself didn't recommend high drain cells when I inquired. Imrbatteries.com does sell them at...

    TN42vn - Reflector Throw King

I did the beam shot, but I'm afraid the results are inconclusive. I clearly saw reflections from unlit windows on the building (encouraging), but I can't definitively say I saw the side of the building itself illuminated. The building involved isn't very reflective and there was still a fair...

    TN42vn - Reflector Throw King

I didn't have a chance to throw test my new flashlight over the weekend, so I'm taking it to work tonight. I measured 1550 meters from the top of our parking structure to the dark side of a hospital building. Ideally I'd want a completely unlit environment for maximum contrast and dark...

    TN42vn - Reflector Throw King

I just received my TN42vn CW today. I'll try to get out this weekend and compare it with my old TN31mb. My rather crude initial lux readings (light meter app on my tablet) show that the TN42 has significantly more output, but the proof is in the beam quality, throw and illumination at night. I...

    X7 Marauder Information

"Powered by four 18650 rechargeable lithium batteries of high discharging rate" Is this to imply that high drain Olight batteries will included with the flashlight?
