    There are some unexpected puzzles here. My light seemed to be difficult to turn on yesterday. I removed the head, and merely screwed it back on. The problem disappeared. I don't get it.     I haven't tried this, but wonder what would happen if you remove the pill and tried the light by inserting a battery. Is the battery case too long, or would you just wind up with a full-power, level 8 light?

    Output is much better with the lithiums than AA alkalines, but I am still concerned about the life of the gen. 1 QTC.

    Output is better with a fresh Lithium, but my old Eiger level 6 puts out much more light. I am bummed out by this, as I expected a new design with lots of light if needed. I put a rule up to the head and it looks like the original El Capitan head, as it measured .7".

    It is possible that I have. Lithium AA is in the Eiger, but I did try a fresh Alkaline in the El Capitan. I suspect that I received an old light. The head is much thinner than that of a Pacific, for example. It is about the diameter of the body. I may try a lithium soon.

    I just got the light, and output is not adequate. My old level 6 Eiger puts out way more light, even though the light says 8 on the head of the Capitain. It is a gen 1 light, but a dim one.     I just got the light from RMSK - definitely a first generation pill. The light level is disappointing, as output is much less than an old Baltic I have on the nightstand. The beam is smooth, but there isn't much spill. Doesn't look like the medium I would expect.
