    I'll have to experiment a little (see earlier in this thread) as the MC circuit is somewhat different. I'll post the results here in case anyone else wants to do this mod.

    Not a bad idea, especially if you use the 10ah or 8.5ah LSD nimh cells. I can do this for you if you like. The status led should light up then, too. The circuit you link to is slightly different than the way the LM317 is used in the MC circuit, but similar enough.

    Nothing. Current continues flowing and gets turned into heat that the battery dissapates.
