    Craftsman Nextec Compact Rechargeable - 12v Li-ion = Sanyo 3x18650s

I bought from Sears and opened one up today. Theyre 3 Sanyo UR18650SA 1200mAh Lithium Manganese safe chemistry cells. These batteries are available at most Sears and the price is not terrible - normally 24.99, recently 19.99. Cheers!

Help! 1.4A driver only delivering 700ma...is it me?

Also, 1.4A is a little too high for XRE's and probably isn't a very good idea. You should look into XPG chips since they can run at higher currents and in general, have lower Vfs. You'd probably have to order more than you would use to select the ones that don't have high Vfs unless the seller...

Help! 1.4A driver only delivering 700ma...is it me?

Hi, The AMC7135 chips function by supplying a fixed voltage output, 3.3V or something like that, and limiting the current of the output. I suspect that as the voltage input increases the output voltage also increases slightly. SO, the reason you are getting only 700ma at 4.2V input voltage...

    Best Budget AA LSD?

Eneloops are the best. Budget implies they should be cheaper than eneloops. Look for deals you see for Rayovac hybrid types. Easiest ones to find are Rayovac and Duracell brands. Keywords are "pre-charged" "2000-2100mah" and often they will state 75% charge retention after 1 year. Cheapest...

Long term light for Africa, no electricity or batteries, what do you recommend?

OP, you might consider the 3 D-cell Mag Rebels. At up to 72 hours of run time per set and with a couple of sets of batteries, they might be more attractive than self-powered lights in every way except for portability. Another option is the 2AA version. AA's have less performance/weight in...

Man Keeps 100 million cp spotlight by bed for Protection

Apparently, he does keep his SW25-5 within reach. He better be wearing good sunglasses when he goes to use that spotlight, though.;)

    D-Cell Substitute

They're rated with a nominal 9v power supply. Even in a stock mag with 6 D batteries and no additional contacts, they don't put out the rated lumens. With 6 Eneloops in those cheap trays in an otherwise old stock Rayovac Industrial, I wouldn't hope for more than 150 lumens OTF. I do have one...

See post #4 and #8. For best results, use the Maglite Magnumstar Xenon bulb for Maglite 6D flashlights. The Manufacturer Part# is: LMSA601. Good Luck!

    D-Cell Substitute

Agreed. The Magnumstar xenon bulb is not hard to find. A local Ace Hardware has them for 2 bucks and change. Worth checking yours if you want to save a buck or three as this is a real budget mod. You won't get close to the rated lumens. But, it's a bright and pleasant household light, in a...
