    New 123a based flashlight

I may pick up a Z1 from where ever it's being currently sold (DealExtreme?) and see if I can interchange parts or anything like that. The local Batteries Plus franchisees are selling the lights..that's where I got two of them for playing with.

    New 123a based flashlight

It does look like the Z1. I was able to partially disassemble it last night, and the build quality is so-so.

    New 123a based flashlight

A local (Phoenix area) company started producing this little gem of a pocket EDC. Three modes - high, low, strobe. Reverse click button. Right angle head makes it barely bigger than the 123a primary that powers it. Is capable of using RCR123a's as well. Company name is Lightgistics...

    5.11 ATAC L1 and L2 flashlights

5.11 is shipping out a new replacement switch. It did take two days to respond via email. But, it's on the way.

    5.11 ATAC L1 and L2 flashlights

Well, I need to call 5.11 tomorrow. I think I broke the switch. It's intermittently operating on the L2. I guess playing with it, cycling the switch and lockout plus using it caused the issue.

Anyone have experience with the new 5.11 ATAC L1 light?

It goes high then low then strobe. It cycles through all three. Not cycling it or using it for 15 seconds resets back to high. I'm in the middle of long term testing the L1 and L2 right now. Sent from my HTC Glacier using Tapatalk

    surefire 9p

I own a 9z with a Malkoff drop in. It's a great upgrade. Contact him. As for runtime - no increase for me. Definite increase in output. Sent from my HTC Glacier using Tapatalk

Advice?: Setting up an AR-15 with a light

My take on this: 1) Choose wisely. Light failure on a weapon mounted light is bad juju. Brand names are your friend. Surefire and Streamlight always work. And unlike a pistol based weapon light, you cant do flashlight based work in a handheld mode as a backup. 2) get a dedicated weapon...

    5.11 ATAC L1 and L2 flashlights

Hm. That surely dinks with trying to test out max brightness runtimes. Sent from my SGH-T959V using Tapatalk

    5.11 ATAC L1 and L2 flashlights

Heh. It's even more severe with a non-protected 123a rechargeable, but a very similar pattern to the lithium AA primary you have. I was playing with the L1 this morning at work. I got about 15 minutes on high, then a severe step down, then another 8-9 minutes of light, stepping down quick. I...

    5.11 ATAC L1 and L2 flashlights

It's not icepacks that I need. The L1 gives me all of 15 minutes on high with a rechargeable before autodimming down a step. I'm going to the L2 tonight to see if I get similarly scaled results. Sent from my SGH-T959V using Tapatalk

    best 1xcr123 for car/emergency use?

My take on this.... Get a used Surefire 6P sized light. Then put in a good quality drop in. Nothing is more reliable than the classic momentary on/twist to stay on switch. In emergency situations, and using gross motor skills, the slightly larger body will be easier to handle. Sent from...

Streamlight PT2L only runs with streamlight brand batt.

I had a PT1L that had a bad switch. Yes, I threw one of mine in a freezer. The switch hosed. It may be an intermittent switch. Frankly, The Streamlight PT2L that I own runs with every battery I throw at it. AW's, unprotected 123a's, SureFire, Duracells, Energizer, and off brands all work fine.
