Hey have you checked out the Nitecore SRT? I picked one up a few months ago and have been pleased with it. I was looking for something compact with a good flood. This light seems to work perfect for what I need.
Man I am way behind in my collection of torches compared to some of you guys.
Nitecore Srt
Brinkman
Surefire Outdoorsman
FordEx Mini
Fenix TK12
2 D Maglite
Mini Maglite
Streamlight Stylus
I just purchases one of these for my collection. I did notice a slight lag in response time when I first started turning the ring. I got about 1/2 way before it kicked in and started working. Not sure if that is because I was clicking and turning really fast and the chip could not respond quick...
What do you guys think about the Pelican 1910. I know it is not very bright but for EDC and it is forward clicky.. I don't own one yet but was thinking about buying one just to have around.
I have been using the Mini Maglite AA for a while now and recently upgraded to the new 226 lumen model. Plus I keep a Maglite 2D LED in my car survival kit. I'm sure some of you are going to give me heck about it, but my reasoning is the cost... If my truck gets broken into then I am only out...
If you can afford a CR123 style EDC then go with that. Then buy the 18650 rechargeable battery. I did that with my Fenix TK12 and it has saved me money for a few years now.
I think the Fenix LD01 is perfect for a keychain flashlight or even EDC. I love mine. 72 lumen on high and 3 or so lumen on the lowest setting. Kinda expensive $35.
