New Flashlight KLARUS XT1C 2018-1x16340 1000Lumens Tactical Compact EDC Light Release

I am also wondering if the switch provides a momentary on function as well as a constant on function.

    Are "9V" rechargables any good?

Any device where my wife or kids rather than me might find themselves maintaining the batteries.

    XT2C-R, 1600 lumens

Definitely would be much more interested if it has a forward clicky with momentary on. The lack of momentary on is about the only thing I do not like about my XT1C.

    Are "9V" rechargables any good?

I have been using Tenergy Centura but found that lately they have not been holding a charge in storage. I have a suspicion that the problem may be the charger. A Powerex Maha 9v charger with a reconditioning function is on its way to me, so we'll se if a few reconditioning cycles solve the...

KLARUS NEW XT1C, The Compact Programmable Tactical Flashlight

Add me to the list of people who really like this light, but would strongly prefer a main switch with momentary capability, even if it made the light slightly longer. I am really impressed with what the XP-L emitter has done for both the XT1C and XT2C. I would be interested in an XT1A with the...

    Leaking battery damage

Although this does not directly answer your question, the best way to prevent this from happening in the future is not to use alkaleaks. Use Eneloops or other nickel metal hydride (NiMH) rechargeable cells instead. These do not leak, do not develop memory, and provide a consistent level of...

2016 Low Self Discharge C and D NiMH Batteries

I have been happy with Tenergy Centura C, D, and 9v. The quality of the charger makes a difference. I use a Powerex Maha 808M for the C and D cells and will likely purchase one of their 9v chargers as well. Lifespan between charges seemed to drop when I was using a different charger.

Looking for a keychain light that can be used as a business giveaway with my logo

I have used keychain lights imprinted with my business name and website as giveaways at trade shows, speaking engagements, and other events. The present light, selected before I started coming here, was picked from the catalog of a local printing shop. While they are not bad (people have...

    Klarus XT2C XPL-HI Flashes

Just as another data point, I have three XT2C lights, including the XP-L version, and none exhibits this behavior. I agree with suggestions above re: cleaning the threads, switch, etc., and promptly letting both Klarus and the vendor know of the issue. Klarus has a 2 year warranty, and many...

    Multi cell (4+) D-cell charger?

I have been very happy with my Maha C-808M, and it is my main charger.

    Regarding Malkoff

Malkoff is without question the best way to upgrade an older incandescent Surefire. My 6Z has an M61, my G2Z has an M61L, and my E2E has an E series conversion head. All three work quite well. The fact that stated output and runtime really is the stated output for the stated runtime despite...

    Battery Question

I see there are already some good recommendations above re: lights. When you see a light advertised at x lumens for y hours, you rarely get the full x lumens for the full y hours. More typically, you get x lumens for the first few minutes after turning on the light, with decreasing output...

    Surefire LX2 is BACK!!

I agree that this could be a really nice light with a more efficient emitter. The user interface is really optimal if you just need low and high, but need the correct mode every time.

LED drop in for incan E2E?

My E2E currently has a Malkoff head. This is the best, most cost-effective upgrade I could find. When considering upgrades, keep in mind that putting an LED in a reflector designed for an incandescent bulb will result in a light that is very floody without much throw. A complete replacement...

    Weapon Lights

Agreed. The fact that those guys believe it to be worthwhile to have those huge, unwieldy things on their otherwise compact sub machine guns really says something about the value of a weapon mounted light.
