    Surefire L1, L2, L4, L5

For my needs, I think the L5 is the best choice. This will primarily be an outdoor light I'll be keeping on a boat. I need enough run time to get back to the ramp. And I need something bright enough so I can navigate an inland lake on a moonless night. I thought about the M-series incans but...

    Surefire L1, L2, L4, L5

Can anyone give me the break down on the L1, L2, L4, and L5. The L1 has the new Cree in it I believe. What about the now discontinued L2? What's the difference between the L4 and L5? They both have the same output but the L5 has double the runtime on 2x123s? I'm assuming one has a more...

Modded Microfire K3500R for heavy bike use

What's that gold lever on the right grip? Looks like a damping adjustment for the fork?

Compact HID for boating at night??

Can you guys recommend a compact HID for navigating at night on an inland lake from a boat? The lake is Lake Cumberland in KY which is no more than a mile wide at its widest. Problem is that there are so many turns and coves that on a moonless night, getting caught in the dark makes getting...

    Cheapest ROP build?

Cheapest ROP... don't bother with the cheapy Kai adapters. It's like throwing away $3. ROP bulbs - $8 + $6 shipping = $14 mcdocod 6aa battery adapter - $18 + $2 shipping = $20 Kai aluminum MOP reflector $15 Kai glass lens (5pack) $3.07 (you said cheapest) Maglite 2D - $9.99 if you wait for the...

Snap on 2 pack @ Costco

So a Mag aluminum reflector and a Mag glass lens fit in the Snap on lights? If so, I'll get one just to have a "different" ROP host.

Snap on 2 pack @ Costco

Did you have to change out the lens and reflector to build the ROP?

    Sold/Expired Low cost, High current 6AA>2D, 9AA>3D, 12AA>4D 15AA>5D, 18AA>6D adapters.

Re: Low cost, high current 6AA>2D, 9AA>3D.. etc adapters. (all sold out temporarily) YES! That makes more sense now. Also, regarding the flush fit of the screw at the positive end... you are right, the clean look does not out-weigh the need for low cost manufacturing methods.

Kui vs Fivemega vs Kaidomain bi-pina adapters?

Looking to build a Mag85. Will I notice a difference in the Kui vs Fivemega vs Kaidomain bi-pin adapters? It seems the easiest to use once are the Fivemega and Kaidomain adapters that basically turn the WA1185 bulb into a PR based bulb. The Kui seems to the choice in extremely high temp...

    Sold/Expired Low cost, High current 6AA>2D, 9AA>3D, 12AA>4D 15AA>5D, 18AA>6D adapters.

Re: Low cost, high current 6AA>2D, 9AA>3D.. etc adapters. (all sold out temporarily) So regarding the end caps... the 6AA and 9AA end caps are different? I would have thought that all the end caps are common and the 3 rods and all thread vary the lengths.

Opportunity to buy a display model 12ZM... how much?

Well get this... I went there and he couldn't find the box. Then when he goes to see if it works, no light. So he puts in some new batteries... still nothing. Turns out the bulb was black. Not sure what happened but he said SF will probably send him a new bulb and then he'll call me. It's...

Opportunity to buy a display model 12ZM... how much?

What was the original price of the 12ZM? I have an opportunity to buy a display model 12ZM at a local gun store. He's asking $159... should I jump on this? No scratches or marks. With all packaging? This thing is suppose to be a 500 lumen M4 correct? And based on my search, it accepts the...

    Sold/Expired Low cost, High current 6AA>2D, 9AA>3D, 12AA>4D 15AA>5D, 18AA>6D adapters.

Re: Low cost, high current 6AA>2D, 9AA>3D.. etc adapters. (all sold out temporarily) Just a suggestion... I would have been interested in a 6AA AND 9AA lego kit. A kit where you give me the 3 rods in 6AA and 9AA size and the center all-thread piece in 6AA and 9AA size. Another suggestion...

4 cell Mag 1D... which bulb?

Which bulb do you guys recommend for at least 45 minutes runtime on 4 AA Nimhs? I'd like to make a 1D hotwire. Anything more than a Mag 3 cell bulb with runtime in the 45 minute range?

ROP Hi runtime... and I tried to search.

Guys, I've searched but can't get the search function to work properly. What kind of runtimes are you guys getting with 6AA Nimh? I'm getting around 20 minutes before the light noticeably begins to dim. I think it's my Energizer 2500s that suck! What can I expect with Eneloops?
