    So. anything good for christmas?

I got a Fenix P32, it is VERY BRIGHT. I have a lot of older Fenix, Streamlight, Pelican and Nuwai LED lights, and a few mag mods, but itis amazing how much the LED's have improved since the Luxeons.

What's your favorite or most used brand?

My favorite brand is streamlight. I carry a TL-2 LED in my car and it is my favorite light. My most used lights are either my Inova X5 or my LED Maglite that I have laying around the house.

    Cars, Man

Are there any guidelines about what types of photos we post? This is my daily driver- LS2 V8 engine, 400hp, 6-speed manual trans. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a370/bjd70/DSC_1521c.jpg

Need help w/ Streamlight TL-2 LED mod

I have both versions of the TL-2 LED. The 2nd gen model is great, the 1st gen model is pitiful by comparison- dim, green light. I'm pretty sure it is resistored direct drive. I don't like it as is so I need to make a change. 1. I could sell it for a low price, probably less than I bought it...

    CR123 carry

I like those orange match cases myself. If you want belt carry, seems like what you need is some kind of Cordura knife sheath or cellphone case. Maybe you could find something like that that would hold a couple of those orange match cases.

2D and 3D Mod Mag Questions

I once ran 7xAA Alkalines in my 2D mag using an 8-AA adapter. I used a cheap RadioShack bulb, can't remember the number offhand. 8 Alkalines fit pretty easily in a 2D, if you can find a way to buy the batteries cheap. You can fit 8 NiMH's in there if you try different brands of batteries and...

    Mag ROP or Mag85?

I don't like the increased size of 3D mags so I built mine with a 2D mag and 8xAA adapter. I forget what bulbs I got, but there are some alternatives to the 1185 that work with 7xAA and others that work with 8xAA but provide less light but longer runtime.

Looking for a budget floody compact light

I'm going to suggest from reading your comments that maybe she needs 2 lights. The good news is that lights with good flood can be relatively inexpensive. My favorite high quality light with a flood beam is the Inova X5. It uses a pair of CR123's, but it is a compact size for that battery...

Computer Pros, Please Help With 3 1/2" Floppy Discs!

I did this recently with my old XP computer before I stopped using it. The drive was already installed and plugged into the motherboard. I had to go into the BIOS and reconfigure it to recognize the drive as a 3.5" 1.44mb drive. Check your BIOS, if that doesn't help then open the computer and...

I know many of Flashlight experts hate Streamlight

Streamlight makes good solid products at reasonable prices. Fenix may have better electronics in some cases but their quality of construction is not as good. Surefire has better products in some ways but they are much more expensive. Pelican and Inova both make some good products that can...

What are your everyday, workhorse lights?

    1. I bought my wife a 3C mag with (IIRC) 3rd-shift's side emitter mod in it. The beam is not real smooth but the wide beam is great for around the house- looking in closets, under the bed, in the attic, etc. 2. I bought a 2D Mag LED when they were on sale half price during black Friday, so...

    2c mag opinions

I'm just a lazy bum- I put the stock Mag LED module in my 2C. IMO the best part of the Mag module is that it throws pretty good, and its cheap and readily available. I like the 2C form factor too.

    Colorado Livin...

I've been to Colorado a lot of times on vacations, just got back about a month ago. Silverton is one of my favorite places, along with Moab, UT. My wife and I have considered retiring to the Durango area but I don't know if we can handle the winter weather in Durango, for sure we couldn't...

What should I do with my MAG 2D?

I agree with the Mag LED upgrade The reason being that it is quick and easy, relatively inexpensive, and widely available. I upgraded one of mine and it works pretty well, so I hunted around for another upgrade. I had a 2C Mag that I had modded with 3xCR123 and KPR112 bulb. This makes an...
