    Thoughts on Streamlight products?

Nobletitus hit on an important point re: the SL Stinger HL which is that the low is not low at all. Off the top of my head, not sure what the low setting is rated at, but it is pretty bright. Something in the 30 lumen range would be way more useful.

    Thoughts on Streamlight products?

I have run the Stinger HL for a few months now. Love it. It pushes out every bit of the 640 lumens it is rated for. Very satisfied. Cannot believe they do not yet have a turbohead version available. I will be buying that if it ever shows up. SL rechargeables make very good beater lights...

    streamlight stinger battery question

I scored a NiMh battery from battery junction not too long ago. Under $20 to my door. Works fine.

HVAC service tech - suggestions for a newbie

Sorry, I assumed too much. Gene Malkoff owns Malkoff Devices (google it). He makes what are called drop-ins to replace and upgrade stock light assemblies in lights. Basically he takes a good product and makes it better. His website is kind rough to navigate, but he builds LED drop-ins, not...

HVAC service tech - suggestions for a newbie

Okay, so this suggestion is going to depart radically from what has already been said, but it might be just the ticket. Take a look at a Streamlight Stinger coupled with the Malkoff Devices Stinger drop-in. Here's what you are getting. 300+ lumens out the front for almost two hours of run...

Question re: NiMh cell and Streamlight charger

Thanks. Any concerns about overcharging or cycling in a particular way?

Question re: NiMh cell and Streamlight charger

I have a NiMh battery pack for a Streamlight Stinger coming from Battery Junction. I am using the factory Streamlight A/C charger - not the smart charge, but what Streamlight is calling the 10 hour charger. What do I need to know as I proceed with this battery? Thanks in advance.

    Malkoff Streamlight Stinger Drop-in Review

I just received my Malkoff Streamlight Stinger Drop-in yesterday and thought I would post up my initial impressions. Before we get into that, let me first comment on how I use lights. In my little corner of the world, I have about 80 chickens, a milk cow, and three steers. I suppose it out to...

    Nightstand Flashlight (Rebooted)

Nightstand huh? SF G2 LED; 2xAA Mini-Mag LED; Wal Mart special 2xAA LED, single mode; a $5.00 3xAAA Enegizer penlight that my kid gave me foru Christmas last year (pretty bright actually); and a $3.99 1xAA light from Wal Mart. Also a Streamlight TL-2 which may or may not be attached to a Glock...

    Malkoff vs New Surefire lights

Malkoff. Every time I fire it up, I have to grin just a little.

Cheap Lights - Utility & Gifts

I may have to turn in my flashaholic card after this post, but here goes. Had to things happen today which gave me pause. I have been *agonizing* few weeks over which two lights to get my 70-year old mother who lives alone. I wanted an EDC-sized light for her purse and a larger light for her...

    Boat Trailer LEDs

Ww - yeah copy that. It's weird. The colder the weather, the longer it takes for them to get bright.

    Boat Trailer LEDs

I guess this is automotive.... I bought a boat and trailer second-hand. The trailer has LED tailights. Here's the thing. When I first head out on a cold winter morning, they don't want to work. They are either unlit or barely lit. But, by the time I get to the boat ramp, they are working pretty...

Streamlight Stinger Led HP Review&Beamshots -- Streamlight builds a Thrower!

Bill - got it. The 24/7/365 remark was just shorthand. The US gets used almost nightly for short periods. I'm probably waaay overdue for a battery replacement. Mine is at least three years old and runtime has dropped off a lot.

Streamlight Stinger Led HP Review&Beamshots -- Streamlight builds a Thrower!

woodrow - first, thanks for the review. SL gets overlooked a lot here at CPF, but they build some bombproof, if somewhat unexciting lights. Would you speak about the switching a bit more? I understand that the mid-body and and tail switch operate in the same manner and interchangeably, but how...
