    Philips doesn't really make many/any electronics anymore, they're like GE in the appliance and electronic market or Toshiba in the TV market, they license the name to a manufacturer to use, but they are no longer made by Philips.

    No they didn't, they announced they wanted to divest some of it but have not done anything as of yet. They also announced their plan to sell Lumileds way back in early 2014 or late 2013.

    The Cree TW 60 watt and the 75 watt always used the same heatsink etc. as they both use the same amount of power, the 60 watt TW just puts less light out due to the higher CRI.

    Those aren't current spreaders per-se, they are vias, and they do spread the current but they aren't referred to as current spreaders in FC LEDs. Current spreaders was used to refer to the metal structure, actually ITP iirc. that was on top of the XM-L, XP-G V1 etc.
