    ThruNite TN12(2014),1050Lm,1x18650 compact light,Review+Outdoor Beamshots

bright light, the price is right, and i like the various modes. after using the UC40UE i just bought i now really don't like the back switch setup. it also seems the 1050 lumen and 800 are practically the same brightness. maybe thats why both modes are listed for an hour and a half of runtime.

*** FENIX UC 40 UE *** Thoughts and Experiences

yeah i found the post in the thread. the poster favored the adjustable ring and the throw. i expect the uc40ue to not throw as well as the SRT7 but the SRT7 isn't getting the 308 meters advertised. its great for lighting an area but seems rather floody for long distances, which is okay with me...

*** FENIX UC 40 UE *** Thoughts and Experiences

go with the UC40UE. i have the SRT7 and while it is a decently bright light the 960 lumen rating is false. i have a 310 lumen maglite and while its brighter than that light it certainly isnt 650 lumens brighter. from the reviews i looked at the fenix pd35 rated at 860 lumens is gonna be...

    Fenix PD35 (XM-L2, 1x18650, 2xCR123A/RCR) Review: BEAMSHOTS, RUNTIME, VIDEO+

reading through the output charts am i to understand that using two cr123a's gives you a 170 lumen pump over what is advertised?

Warning do not carry exposed batteries in your pocket.

they say a wise man learns from his mistakes but a wiser man learns from other's mistakes. i don't recall ever putting batteries in my pocket but after reading this i never will. thanks for this nugget of wisdom.

CAUTION !! Misleading budget battery and lumen claims

i certainly don't need all the things that my SRT7 can do. i bought it as an expensive toy. most would buy a flashlight of that quality because they really need it. if $4 flashlight gives you all that you need in a flashlight then i would agree in saying why pay more?

Phone battery balloned without any use!

thanks for the heads up. i just now pulled the battery out of my old cell phone and out of the flashlight i don't plan on using much.

i got mine from lightjunction.com. keep in mind that even with lightjunctions coupon the price for the VP1 will be the same as the price for the VP2 from xtardirect.com where the VP1 is also some $14 less.

Using Li-ion cells in LED flashlights safely

i'll probably be springing for the Vp1 or Vp2 charger from xtar with one of those nitecore 18650s in the near future. i'm gonna go through these primaries first though, or maybe i'll use them in my maglite. they're top of the line panasonics. i got a no payments or interest promo going on with...

Using Li-ion cells in LED flashlights safely

mixing batteries is just asking for trouble which is why i bought in pairs. while i am using a sequence of batteries they're the same battery and if the light goes dim im throwing both batteries away. reading more on this stuff makes me glad i didnt opt for the streamlight protac HL 3 that...

recommend the best battery for a nitecore SRT7

got one on its way. should arrive monday. i bought 10 of these panasonic batteries for it http://www.batteryjunction.com/1pcencr3voph.html i hear runtimes for CR123s for this light aren't as good as with an 18650. i'll probably get an 18650 and charger after i run through these 10 panasonics...

Using Li-ion cells in LED flashlights safely

thank you for this bit of info. i guess i was better off getting the OEM recommended non rechargeable panasonic CR123 1550mahs for the SRT7 i have on order. got 10 of them. i'm a total n00b to all this and i've pretty much been scared off of rechargeables by this thread haha. thanks again for...
