    Need a light for my 12 y/o Boy Scout.

    For something that burns A LONG TIME with good throw, a good ole M*G light with one of the quality led replacement bulbs works well. For what a SF L4 (a great light) cost, you could probably get a mini M*G and a 3c M*G both with led replacement bulbs.

    SF G2 w/UCL

    I've been running a G2 with a one cell extender and a P90 for a long time with no problem on the stock lens. The P91 does put out more light but not really more throw, so I put the P90 back in for the longer runtime. A UCL would be nice but I haven't had any "melting".

    Is L2 on high really 100 Lumens??

    For doing a house search, it's the best light I have. A wall of bright white light that really does cover the entire room if pointed form a corner. Outside where I need throw, there is the Lux V Aleph 3 package. On high you get about 45 mins but you will use low much more with frequent pumps...
