Waoouuu 300mw high power green laser pointer

I thought ebay was supposed to pull items that clearly break the law. Last i heard anything over 5mW is not allowed to be called a pointer. I'd be surprised if anything showed up at your house at all. I have friends who have been scammed with similar extraoridinary claims.

    Leadlight 105/110 Modification Stages1,2

Hey guys, haven't posted in a long time, been working on other projects. One thing I want to mention about the "turned too far" pot and then intermittent/weak output, the diode MIGHT be just fine. I ran into this problem with a really cheap pot. On these cheap ones, if you turn it forcefully...

Dumbbutt shined greenie on a State Trooper

Why bother starting off your post with, "Not to start and argument BUT..." and then proceed to address my post with argumentative sarcasm? Only one sentence in your post is actually worth anything, and that is the explanation of the circumstances. Perhaps those circumstances should have been...

Dumbbutt shined greenie on a State Trooper

What bugs me is, why is the state trooper allowed to confiscate something (he must have a good reason, like it's dangerous) and then carry it around and show it to people as if it were his own? It would seem to me that it is evidence and not the trooper's new toy that actually belongs to...

    Effect vs. Power....?

A very simple test that is relatively consistent is to make a very small dot on the back of your hand with a black sharpie, and briefly shine the laser onto that spot. You should feel it in less than a second if you can get it to stay still. I wouldn't recommend doing that with anything...

A laser that is'nt seen in the forums

The button on that laser looks like it is made of rubber, and if it is I would not recommend removing it from the unit. The rubber button covers have a terrible tendency to tear.

    ma/volt confusion

This used to trouble me as well. What you have to realize is that a resistor is not a pure voltage or current device, it is a POWER device, so both voltage and current are affected.

    EasY MoneY

I am going to try to find the spares I bought a few years ago. The pots I bought do not look the same as the original, they're better. If I find them I'll check what the resistance is and perhaps take a picture. Have you measured the max resistance for the pot? That's the second thing you...

Leadlight problem, how to access switch

Two things come to mind: 1) You are correct, and the laser module has rotated slightly so that the "momentary" type switch on the board is no longer aligned. -This is not likely because you should still get that positive click. 2) The switch is near the end of its lifespan. -This is more...

Confirmation!! NewWish Lasers ARE Pot Moddable!!!!

You know, that's something I have wondered about when powering the diodes with an external power source. I think that the driver circuitry is designed around a certain input voltage (3V for the typical green pointer), which really has little to do with the diodes' voltage requirement. I...

Wow great sites. I am going to take a look at those for a bit. Thanks!

Confirmation!! NewWish Lasers ARE Pot Moddable!!!!

That's a very handsome laser. If you had known exactly where the pot was located, you could have just drilled a small hole right above it. I did that with one of mine that I took apart and found the pot, only I destroyed the pot completely when the drill broke through the casing (I have a...

how to make beam waist (width) smaller??

Thanks for helping. I know my thoughts on the matter are quite scattered, so your input is helpful. I thought diffraction was only a factor in non-monochromatic (polychromatic?) light? Do you recall if that formula included the size of the source when calculating smallest spot size? I've...

how to make beam waist (width) smaller??

I agree, my explanation is quite messy. I've never tried to explain this idea before, I do not even claim that any of it is fact. I apologize for just throwing thoughts down, but that's the only way I can sort this out. Yes, the diameter of the lens is irrelevant, it's really the focal length...
