The Stages of Man. . .

GL, That makes more sense, having opportunity in the older years, well, that's a stretch, unless you are Hugh Hefner. But if you are MIDDLE AGE, then for guys, there is a lot of opportunity (if you have a good job and good income-it's the best you'll have in your lifetime). But if you are a...

    What global warming?

well said on both sides. If I google global warming "is not co2" versus global warming "is co2" it's 151 versus 863. Seems like Google says global warming IS CO2, 863 YES versus 151 NO. Scientific, no, correct, YES. Now I'll go back to my big Escalade SUV, because I was just trolling ("i.e...

    What global warming?

No, not trolling at all, but sometimes that's an excuse here for posts that aren't "agreeable". Just wasn't sure if you were serious, but sounds like you were, GOOD. I don't have my own plane, so I guess I don't have that experience. But I've traveled a bit on my own dime too. Taxes are create...

    What global warming?

BB [ QUOTE ] Anyway… End of rant. All I was saying was offer a better product and people will knock your doors down to get it. Ford and GM are in very serious financial trouble because the (relatively) free market has increased the prices of fuel and those two companies were poorly...

    What global warming?

BB, You are a genius, just hilarious. Your ranting is very good. Bottom line is, however, taxes do influence people. People buy houses because they can deduct the mortgage payments from their taxes. People will buy cars that get 30-50 miles per gallon (like YOURS) if gas taxes are high enough...

    Help! Incans now dissappointing

Re: What about Innova T4 throw vs incadescent? The last graph is nice, but no incandescent. I used think that color rendition was because of lumens, but now I realize it's because of temperature. On the other hand, "GOOD GREIF, how much power is used for incandescent radiation, WOW", nice pics.

    What global warming?

jtr, I agree with you 109%, but, GOOD GOD, baby steps! Can't we just drive cars that conform to some kind of CAFE standards and not try and out trick the government by buying cars that are actually trucks??? Um, I agree with the cigarette stuff, um, if you raise the tax enough, people won't...

    What global warming?

BB, "CAFÉ standards—Laws and taxes are a very bad way to change human behavior. We saw what happened the last time. People just started buying SUV’s (not covered by CAFÉ) instead. We had Prohibition and got organized crime. We have very high taxes on cigarettes and organized crime (and even...

Replacing my old 6V Rayovac lantern

LA, You're right, I've had a crappy Dorcy 6 volt spot for years, never paying a lot of attention to it, and it still works well. But ideally, if you want a cheap light out of your car that isn't hooked up and you can walk away with, splicing into a 12 volt car electrical system is monkey easy...

Replacing my old 6V Rayovac lantern

Actually, any 12 volt spotlight can be made to float on the car's electrical system. And the spotlights are very cheap. Just hook them up, leave them there and they are ready to use at any time.
