    No, the S1 should not work at all, if it is the standard aluminum version. The titanium, copper, brass versions might not lock out with tail cap loosened.

    Flashlight doesn't fit 18650

    You might want to check 16650 battery, I have read that they can be used in lights that take 2 cr123 cells. I have never used that size myself so I don't know if it will work in your light.
