    Outdoor Area/Landscape Lighting Suggestions

I found solar lighting to be anemic, tint really sucks, and the batteries seem to require very frequent replacements especially in hot weather. I have given up on them. I have a low voltage system using MR16's and found these at Lowes for about $30: http://preview.tinyurl.com/248sh3q I was...

Has anyone built their own Li-Ion chargers?

This worked great for me: http://cds.linear.com/docs/Datasheet/405442xf.pdf It's linear so you want to minimize input voltage to keep power dissipation in the part down to a manageable level. I use a 5V wal-wart and set charge current to 500mA. I'm still using cells from 5 years ago so this...

    LaCrosse BC-9009 / BC-900 - The Melt-Downs Continue...

So you are saying that there is no such thing as a high quality at a low price? Your "...cheap sure is a good indicator of poor quality" is a logical fallacy. For example, I buy Hondas and Toyotas. They're inexpensive. But they not of poor quality. I've taken a Honda Accord to redline more often...

Expensive == Quality????? Gotta love some of the garbage that's perpetuated on the internet. I'll crawl back into my hole....

CPF recommendation please - tactical LED

You need something closer to a laser. I don't think you'll find that in a flashlight that mounts to a rifle and if you do, you're not going to want to lug the rifle around.

SureFire Z2 and 18650 cells -- Who can get it done?

I've bored out a 6Z (predecessor to the Z2) to take protected 18650 cells. Used a Dremel tool and took about 20 minutes. I can't remember what particular bit/grinder I used but can look it up. I've also bored out a C2, C3 using the same technique. You just gotta be careful to preserve the...

    TK20 long term owners

There's a lot of old reviews on the TK20 (most are 2008 dates) but I'm looking for input from LONG TERM TK20 owners. Impulse buyers who just recently bought the light or ones that had the light for such a short period of time that the novelty hasn't worn off need not reply. I'm looking to get...

New Lumens Factory P7 Head Assembly for SureFire M Series:

So it's possible you can grind down the inside of the head to make clearance for the spring? 0.01 doesn't seem like a lot, even I could do that with a Dremel :nana: I may have to buy one of these.

Where did all the oldtimers go.

Still around, but mostly lurking these days. This place just got too big for me. Funny thing is I joined in 9/11/02. Kind of strange.

Where did all the oldtimers go.

Gransee was the one that got me to join CPF. The Arc LS was one of my first addictions, back when the batwing emitters were the brightest LED's around. I spent countless hours and dollars buying lights and modding them, and destroying a bunch in the process. Man that was fun. Surefires, Arcs...

    Best MR16 LED to date?

Lowest cost is fedex ground at $11.73 (for a $20.95 item).

    Best MR16 LED to date?

Do you have any lower priced options for shipping? I'd like to try the MR11 but the shipping costs half as much as the light.

Looking for LED light w/parallel battery config

The OP was asking about parallel configuration cells. The lights you quote are configured with cells in series.
