Thanks for the pics and review! Always good to hear other people's impressions on these.

SF Collection display at SF warranty repair

The airsoft guns are not a bad thing to have around if you're trying to sell to people who use such things on a daily basis. And besides, when the customers aren't around, you can shoot each other with them!

    First nice light

Donut patterns are less manufacturing defect (for good lights) and more design decision. Occasionally lights with very bad quality control will have strong variability in that department, but not usually. Optic and reflector design is always a tradeoff. If you want a throwy light, I'd stay away...

    Cataract Surgery...HIGHLY recommended!

Good to hear that went well for you. Everyone I know who has had it done says that it's a life-changing experience.

    Glare mout laser

Presumably you didn't pay that for it, so how did you come to have it? Perhaps it fell out of the supply chain? Interesting item to just happen to have...

    NEOFAB D1000 P60LED DROPIN PREVIEW

Looks like an interesting option going forward. I hope these actually make it to market in reasonable quantities at a price point that is appealing.

How do you prefer a multimode flashlight ? - Poll 2

I've always preferred increasing levels. It makes little sense in my use case to blow my vision, THEN bring the brightness down. "Tactical light" is uselessly silly - if I need bright light instantly, I carry a bright single-mode flashlight for that. Still, I love my E1B.

    Some thoughts regarding Surefire

I've got to say, my surefires are certainly all in a sweet spot in the dollar to reliability ratio. I've owned some really nice very expensive custom lights, but the surefires do really well for a mass-market product.

    Surefire Saint Minimus Parasitic Drain

I don't have any noticeable battery drain either. It's nearly unmeasurable even with good equipment.

Sanyo CR123A's - what's the new best option?

I bought several hundred Sanyo 123s back when they were $1/ea, and have just recently run out of them. I was extremely happy with the performance of the cells, and would like to get more that are similar. Now I'm looking to buy another 100 or two, but I can't seem to find them in bulk at a...

What is the cheapest reliable CR123A flashlight to leave in the car forever ?

I leave a G2 and an extra lamp in my car. Reliable as hell. Proven tech, long-lasting, and very very well understood.

    Recommendations for officer

I'd say go with the surefires. They've been proven as making fantastically reliable lights for a long time. Too many of the newer manufacturers don't have the experience to provide that kind of assurance.

    XP-G off-road light decision

I agree... more efficient should be useful if you run them with the truck off. I'd wait.
