Surefire T1A Titan still worth it?

It is still worth a second look at T1A, if you don't like the 1 Gen one. - Better tint than the original (natural in the center, spill has blue tint) - More useful light, still a lots of spill, but now more useful in the medium range - Longer runtime - Runs Cooler - Still compatible with AW IMR...

Surefire T1A Titan still worth it?

Both the reflector and emitter look identical. One major difference is on the body, now it has a matt finish and is very very slightly thicker. Bezel has the same glossy finish. Bezel is looser on my old T1A, maybe that is due to the everyday use of my old light, or SF has tighten the specs so...

Surefire T1A Titan still worth it?

I also just received mine this morning too. I agree, the new T1A is more useful than my old T1A. This one has a more focused hot spot, and the angry blue tint is also gone. The tint is only slightly cooler compared to my other LED lights, but you will not notice it on daily basis. My box has...

    Ra Disappointment

I also like flood beam as a working tool. T1A is all flood, and has replaced my old EDC-Ultimate-80. It can be also used with rechargeable (IMR16340 from AW). Maybe worth considering.....

    Surefire LX2 (Part 2)

Re: Surefire LX2 on AW RCR123's --- Basic runtime testing I would use 1 x 17670, it's even safer, and longer runtime too. If it's too big to go in, use the unprotected one instead. The forward voltage of the LED will automatically protect the Li-Ion cell for under-voltage.

how to power 4 X-REs from li-ion batteries

I would recommend LuxDrive's PowerPuck (1A version) from LED supply. http://ledsupply.com/powerpuck.php You'll find the data sheet on the web site.

First informed EDC, LD10 or L1T?

I think you should look for an AAA EDC light, it will make the transition from a dinky keychain light easier. Have a look at the LD01.

Surefire Titan T1A Pics & Info

Re: SF Titan T1A tints? Most T1A's come with a cool tint LED. Cooler tint is useful as a working light in a fixed lighting environment (tungsten, fluorescent, street mercury light), it helps to create a stark contrast. It works quite well for a light that has flood beam and not a lot of throw.

    Surefire LX2 (Part 2)

I think this is the thread: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?p=3011523 However, the poster were using protected 14650. I am talking about unprotected 17670, which will also fit most SF bodies. Unprotected 17670 has a better performance than 14650, I am using one for my U2...

    Surefire LX2 (Part 2)

    It's better to use one 17670 cell than 2xRCR123. 1) it's safer, 2) you get more run time out of it, Capacity 17670 = 1800mAh - 2000mAh Capacity RCR123 = 500mAh - 700mAh 3) You won't be over driving the converter. Max voltage 17670 = 4.2V Max voltage 2xRCR123 = 8.4V

What light should I get for *blackouts*

Why not getting a computer Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) for your Li-Ion charger? This way, you can run other chargers (like cellphone charger), at the same time, on the same UPS. Most cigarette sockets inside the car are disconnected until you start the engine. You are wasting a lot of...

What light should I get for *blackouts*

I have two of these warm white lanterns: http://www.neweggmall.com/Product/2005583910/product.html (Specs: 3 AA Batteries - 24 hours on HIGH - 48 hours on LOW) Take the top cover off, you can use it as a flashlight or in ceiling bounce mode.

    Bored With Surefire?

SF to the flashlight market is like Apple to the computer market. Apple think outside the box and come up with unique solution for the problem. SF is the same. I collect lights that are unique. Understand the technologies under the skin helps. Lights like the A2, U2, Kroma, and now T1A are...

    Bored With Surefire?

You must understand it's quite complicated to reduce the light output from an LED while maintaining it's output characteristics. If you simply reduce the supply current to the LED, the tint will shift. So most of the multi-output LED lights have an microprocessor inside that turns the LED on...

    Discussion of 2 lights.....E1B and T1A

Also from the "color temperature" link above: Actually, I was working under the kitchen counter yesterday. With the cool tint from T1A, it did cut through the tungsten light in the kitchen and provided more contrast under the kitchen counter.
