    Radio Shack white LED

I have been using these LED's in various lights that I want to produce a moderately broad wide spread of neutral white light for up-close work. Mainly, I put them on squeeze lights so that we can read menus in dimly lit restaurants with small print menus (fine dining). More recently, I...

Philips 10.5w 800 lumen premature failure

I've had a Samsung LCD TV and a Samsung Monitor from work both go bad because of blown capacitors. I stumble across this article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor_plague

Need help finding LED bulb for garage door opener

I put in a socket adapter to two-prong receptacle, then install an LED light wherever I want nearby. CFL's take too long to warm up, especially in the winter. I used to use incandescent, and the bulb would last much longer than when it was shaken by the opener.

    Olight S20-L2 (S20 2013, XM-L2, 1x18650 2xCR123A/RCR) Review: RUNTIMES, BEAMSHOTS+

Well I can't see the red light when it's mounted on my head :) I looked around for details, but I couldn't confirm protection. I did find something on olightworld that is interesting: "The top-of-the-line CREE XM-L2 LED puts out a retina-scorching 550 lumens" What? I thought you're not...

    XTAR SP2s Charger Problems

I learned that life is a lot easier on both consumer and retailer when the job is done right to begin with. I don't have a point. Just sharing some facts that may be useful to others who are dealing with a similar issue, or may be trying to select a quality charger.

    Olight S20-L2 (S20 2013, XM-L2, 1x18650 2xCR123A/RCR) Review: RUNTIMES, BEAMSHOTS+

The reflector in mine is smooth, not OP. The beam has a nice wide spot and good spill. It is nearly perfect mounted on my head during running. I find it amazing that this light is only slightly larger than my AA flashlights! The beam tint is slightly warm and slightly green, I have no...

    XTAR SP2s Charger Problems

I bought a WP2s from MD-Lightsource mid-September, and am very disappointed in the quality of the unit. First one delivered, the sliders would bind. It was delivered with the negative terminals stuck in two different down positions. To charge a 14500, I had to actually push the negative...

    Test/Review of EagleTac 16340 750mAh (Black)

I bought two from GoingGear last week and am very disappointed in these cells. They do not fit in ANY of my many CR123 lights, with the exception of a EagleTac P100C2. Too big in diameter. They fit as a pair in my 18650 lights, but what's the point of doing that? One was received with 0V. I...

    Olight S20-L2 (S20 2013, XM-L2, 1x18650 2xCR123A/RCR) Review: RUNTIMES, BEAMSHOTS+

I only meant to shorten the quote to what I was specifically replying to (Panasonic protected 3400mA*h cells). I did not intend to change the meaning. Sorry. :sigh: Perhaps there are different flavors of Protected Panasonic cells. Mine were purchased from wallbuys and fasttech. They have...

    L3 Illumination L10 (XP-G2 R5 or Nichia 219, 1xAA) Review: RUNTIMES, BEAMS, VIDEO+

I have 5 Cree XP-G2 and 3 Nichia 219. All four-mode. I have noticed a definite trend: *The LED's on all Crees are off-center, but the beam is acceptable. *The LED's on all Nichias are centered quite nicely. I could see dirt on the emitter lenses of some of them with the naked eye. Under a...

    Olight S20-L2 (S20 2013, XM-L2, 1x18650 2xCR123A/RCR) Review: RUNTIMES, BEAMSHOTS+

As an update, I checked more Pro-Pan-3400 cells that I own. Only one slides in freely, the rest drag along the wall while starting. I don't shove them in because I am concerned that the Kapton tape would be scratched off the foil wire causing a short or the cell might get jammed in. I have a...

    Olight S20-L2 (S20 2013, XM-L2, 1x18650 2xCR123A/RCR) Review: RUNTIMES, BEAMSHOTS+

Which is the best Philips 100W-equivalent 2700K omni-directional LED bulb

The newest one is 19W 432195, coming in right at 100W equivalence. This replaces 22W 424432 which was an overachiever (about 111W equivalence). I have the latter which burns many hours of the day and works well for me. Note these bulbs are A21 size, which is a little larger than the...

    LED Christmas Lights PWM?

PWM = Pulse width modulation, used to control the power delivered to the LED's. Unless the lights have a dimming circuit, you are likely noting directly rectified AC power, not PWM. Mine do this. I don't care, as long as they are warm white and outdoors.
