    Kinda a noob question but when you diassembled your L2 tailcap to switch out the silicone boot, how did you remove the inner retaining ring, mine has 2 divots in it, but I kinda at a loss on how to remove it, is a special tool required?

    Fenix L0D R2... If/When?

    Idk if I'd go that far, I can see the difference between the high mode (107 lumens) and the turbo mode (120 lumens) on my L1D-Q5, so I think a 23 lumen increase would be perceptible. But the cost to benefit ratio might make it not worth it.

    You guys must not own guns :) It's a vial containing tritium a radioactive isotope of hydrogen the isotope decays and releases radiation which then strikes a special paint which then glows. I could go more into it but for all points and purposes that's all you need. Comes in all sorts of colors.

    That's some beautiful work there. I'm personally more of a liner lock/stud for easier 1 hand opening, but you can't beat the strength of a lockback lock. And it does take you back to those "good ole days"

    That's what tritium vials are for, unlike a low powered LED they don't require/drain batteries either. and they last for ~10 years

    You must do some serious light work to burn out a 50,000 hour LED... props that you can do the soldering on the fly.

    Newb - first serious purchase Nitecore Defender

    That is a nice first like, I bought my first "real" light recently a Fenix P2D which is pretty nice, but the NDI is on a whole nother level I've heard. After looking at it it's defn. on my to buy list, just gotta save up some $$$ first. Being broke sucks heh
