Surefire KT2 turbohead and old N2 lamp assembly

Your chances of getting an N2 are very near zero. They have been out of production for several years. Unless your dealer has some very old stock, it will come with an MN15. Too bad. The N2 has a very nice round beam and is considered quite desirable by many. They sold for a premium, (even used)...

    Mini-turbo (D36) head fo SF 9P - please help

Received my D36 mini turbo head from Athena Police Supply today. Mounted it on my SF D3 body. Fits perfectly and works fine. It should fit any standard SF body-D, C, P, Z, etc. Good beam shape and the quality appears excellent. Finish appears to be Type III, but I can't be sure of this based...

6 volt lead acid battery Question; please help.

Please define "too much charge" for us. A lead acid cell will read about 2.2 volts when fully charged. Your 6V battery should then be about 6.6V. Significantly more than that might indicate a problem with your charger. Mark

    Inductive charging 1xAA NIMH light

How is going through all of that easier than just putting your cells on a charger? You will loose the use of your light for many hours while it sits in your inductive charger. Would not work at all on a metal body light. Mark

    Anybody here have Hi-Gain flashlights?

Sorry to hear they are going out of production. I would like to pick up a new 500, but can't find a source selling them. Do you know a dealer selling the 500? Marks

    Ultra Stinger Mod Help

I think that the greatly increased current is both too much for the contacts and the additional heat is more than the internal plastic bits can handle. The switch stops clicking and feels mushy. I don't really think there is anything you can do to prevent this. At $15 or more for a switch it...

    Ultra Stinger Mod Help

I have one modded with a WA1160. Very bright. However, you must replace the plastic window with glass, which is not easy. The plastic will melt after a few minutes. Big thing is that the switch is just not up to the task. I am on my third switch and am going back to the stock lamp. Still makes...

How do I use this Switch??

Don't think this piece would be a great choice for flashlight use. What you have is a linear taper 50K pot with a built in switch. Typical use would be as a power on/off volume control or an in/out tone control. These are used a lot in older radios, guitar amps and other musical instruments. Mark

    Charging questions

As usual, I think SilverFox's response is spot on. (He did not get to be grand exalted battery guru based solely on good looks.) Summed up well in the beginning: "The best way to cycle your cells is to use them, and use them frequently." Yup, use rechargeable cells in devices that you use...

    Turbohead Question

Do you have the adapter that should come with the KT3? You might take a look at the picture on SF's site. The KT3 should fit the 9N/9AN using the N3 LA with no issues. Mark

    Lanyard for Surefire U2

I have not seen a tailcap that allows a lanyard ring on a U2. It must be non SF if it exists. A U2 lanyard requires some form of using the pocket clip. A split ring/hook combo tends to slide around on the pocket clip and also can scratch the light body. Braddah_Bill's solution solves these...

Is the original incandesent A2 Aviator going extinct?

The A2 is a great light. The fact that something new comes along does not change that. There are plenty of them available, either from dealers or even right here in the MarketPlace. If you want one, buy it. Don't worry about when or if SF will discontinue them. Their schedule has been known to...

    Formula 1 car vents!

Putting the KERS batteries in the nose certainly helps with the desired weight distribution and balance. Now, besides the real possibility of a face full of toxic fumes, there are heavy very high current cables that must run through the cockpit. Hotseat anyone? Apparently, these KERS batteries...

    Autotransformers ?

You did not say what use you have planned for the low voltage output. It will not be precise as the output voltage will follow the input voltage in direct proportion. This is an interesting autotransformer as the I/O ratio is very high at 10 to 1. Most have a much closer relationship. Although...
