Olight X6 Marauder. To buy or not to buy?

If they are asking more than $5 RUN! The box it comes in might be worth the $5. Olight is not known for good customer service.

    Is this flashlight any good?

I got hit on the shoulder with one of those things, it broke in half. I just looked at the guy and said "Run!" The bruise only lasted a few days so it must be a very low quality light:crackup:

22 awg sufficient for Streamlight Survivor 18650 mod?

I might be a little late for the party but you would have to know what the current draw is on the cells. 22AWG is only rated for 0.92 amps according to this chart. Personally I do not use anything under 18AWG for any project but that might just be my paranoia...

Olight open 2 - ink refills not working

I completely forgot to measure the refills on friday. Nice to know there is an alternative refill available. Of course they are more expensive than the originals though. Sometimes I hate being Canadian, everything costs more than it should!

Olight open 2 - ink refills not working

When my pens shipped they had a tiny wax like coating on the tips you have to remove before they will write. It takes some effort to get the coating off with your finger nail. Did you remove that coating? Sometimes it helps to pour a few drops of rubbing alcohol on a piece of paper then try to...

Job with plenty of flashlight usage?

Oddly, those are often considered warning signs that you should not be working alone in the dark. The suicide rate is often much higher among those people.

Job with plenty of flashlight usage?

I wasn't aware of the OP's past. That being said there are appeal processes for everything now. He may still be able to apply. There are plenty of security guards working around here with known histories for non violent offences. Plenty of RCMP officers have criminal histories and still get...

Job with plenty of flashlight usage?

Security is where my lights got the most use. Mechanics and welding were probably second. I'm not an electrician but I do a fair amount of wiring and that usually requires turning the power off and using a portable light source. If you have underground transit the maintenance guys always seem...

    Flashlight holsters or pouches?

Most flashlight manufacturers offer their own holsters for an additional price. If your looking for a specific one try checking the manufacturers website first. Many lights still fall into the "6P' format so those pouches will fit newer lights. Brands like Bianchi, 5.11 and Uncle Mike's are...

    Fisher Space Pen

I used a Zebra f701 with a fisher refill. Monochrome what color refil do you use? I remember reading somewhere that the blue refills are more prone to leaking than the black refills.

    For Streamlight Strion users-FYI

Unfortunately those kinds of situations do happen and its usually first responder's who have to deal with the immediate aftermath. Any earthquake or hurricane could happen with little warning. Lets face it you can't call a time out just because you need to charge your batteries. I'm simply...
