Wow. Absolutely GREAT review, Eryk! Really NICE photographs, too. Thank you for all your work on your wonderful review!
Google translate did a very decent job translating it.
I missed this review somehow when I looked for information on this small new light.
My interest is caused by that for...
I have numerous flashlights that are much smaller than the Gaglites, and put out as much as 1800 lumens. Of course, you can't buy one at Walmart. Or Walgreen's.
They differ from the consumer LED Gaglitess: they all have heat sinks. Lol.
As the title says. This is a new flashlight, and I can find very little information about it. Does the exposed side switch have a lockout function? Without one, the side switch would get activated within a few minutes of being put into a pocket, rendering this 'EDC' light dead in your pocket...
Would you recommend some good unprotected 18650 cells, and where to buy them? Thank you.
Edited to add: Should I get button top, or flat top 18650 cells?
Normally I wouldn't have thought to even ask this question, but I came across a curious statement in a review of the Nitecore SC63 on Amazon:
Zebralight was able to make it [the SC63] shorter by using unprotected 18650 cells. The safety circuitry is in the flashlight instead [of in the...
Sounds reasonable. But no matter HOW MANY TIMES I try it, from OFF, all I get is the light turning on, followed by it changing output modes. Every single time. It's just not working for me. Thank you for trying to help me, of course.
Sounds like it might work. To LOCK the flashlight, do you start with the light on or off?
When I TRY to do what you suggest, from OFF, all it does is turn on the light, and it causes the light to start cycling through its output levels. When I try to do it from ON, all it does is turn on the...
The instructions for locking and unlocking the switch are written in the worst Engrish possible; I quote it word for word in it's entirety here:
"Depress-and-hold (within 2 seconds)the switch button until the LED flash once to lock the light and perform the same operation to unlock it"...
OBVIOUSLY NOT.
They have a warehouse full of LD12 2017 'neutral white' flashlights with puke green LED emitters. And even though they KNOW they are nowhere NEAR being 'neutral white', they have made the decision to commit consumer fraud, and sell them ANYWAY.
NOBODY is going to get an LD12...
As a follow up to this story, I got two more LD12 2017 flashlights. Each was WORSE than the previous. There is NOTHING in the emitters even remotely close to white or yellow. They are GREEN. FUGLY GREEN.
No, they are VASTLY WORSE than the original one I had. Split pea soup, puked up onto a...
WTF gave you the obviously ridiculous idea that I am NOT returning this POC to Fenix? I never said that. I never even implied that in any way, You just made that up so you could, in your limited and extremely small minded way, attempt to insult me. If you want to try to insult someone, since you...
My eyes are green, too.
And I stand by the FACT that EVERY Fenix flashlight I have ever bought has had a rotten urine, split pea soup puke, green tint.
I swore I would never buy another one, and I haven't for 4 or 5 years.
I STUPIDLY thought that if I bought one that is SUPPOSED to have a...
