    [Review] Fenix E20 v2.0 (SST20, 5500K, 250 lumens, 2xAA)

I have one that I purchased as a gift for a friend and have been putting through its paces prior to gifting it. Your runtime tests are spot on. I am working with a Fenix Rep because based upon my own tests it appears that they flipped the alky and NIMH run times when they printed them on the...

    Options for Driving Lights

These lights are marketed on Amazon for your OFF ROAD experience and street legal IN CANADA. Run those lights in my State (Pennsylvania) and you will be hit with a $250 fine. Not SAE approved. Not street legal.

    Surefire Aviator 2017 thread

Re: Surefire Aviator release date? Am I correct that in looking at the beamshots the wide flood of the A2 Aviator LED version is gone. It is the colored LED output going through the TIR system? If so that's a shame. I should have bought one of the last remaining white / white LED Aviators...

Fenix FD41 focusing ring : overview and first thoughts

Just took delivery of this over the weekend and I am VERY pleased with the light. Yes, the focusing mechanism is a little stiff, but not too bad on mine and it definitely does get easier with use. Yes, if you stop at certain positions there is a donut hole and / or a ring or two. But...

PIAA LED Reflector Series Any Good?

Wow. Where do I begin and how do I do so without seeming to be confrontational. And granted, my comments are subjective based upon my personal experience and 35+ years in the automotive profession. (Not related to PIAA in any way beyond being a consumer of their products) PIAA equipment. My...

    BEST reasonably priced lantern?

I agree with the prior post on the Siege models. The larger Siege for long run time on three D cells and the smaller Siege has value for its AA batteries as you can easily solar charge batteries if need be. Both also have a well indexed battery door that makes changing batteries a snap. The...

    Best AA led lantern

I am a big fan of the Siege. It is the only lantern that I know of with a nicely indexed "cannot get it wrong" battery door. I HATE struggling to get those to line up properly :) That said....It has performed well for me. I have to add though that Fenix has one that will run on two AA or a...

Do fog lights add much benefit?

I am going to disagree with a lot of you. Before anyone can answer this question you have to look at the individual vehicle involved and the person driving it. Poorly designed and manufactured fog lamps provide poor lighting and a lot of glare. Some Ford F150 trucks have fog lamps like that...

    Fenix CL25R alternatives?

Ah...Only 280 lumens and only runs for 6 hours on TWO 18650 batteries? That does not sound very efficient at all. I am not sure that extra 80 lumens over the CL25R is worth eating up a second cell. Am I missing something???

Streamlight Siege Review --- Now in neutral white! (September 2014)

The Fenix CL25R is 18650 (single cell) and pretty slick. Neutral tint as well. Can charge the battery using USB. I have not yet tried to solar charge mine yet but others have had success. I am hoping it will like my solar charger.....

Recommendation requested - Neutral/Warm lantern, outdoor yard use

<< I wonder if Streamlight changed the emitters they use in the Siege lanterns then. When I reviewed it last year the emitters in my sample are VERY cool. >> I already have some cool tinted laterns so I waited until someone else had reviewed them or until their text actually stated that it was...

Recommendation requested - Neutral/Warm lantern, outdoor yard use

I love the warmer tints as well. My Seige lanterns are more of a neutral tint. I would not call them cool at all. The BIG reason that I like them is that the battery compartment is indexed using a triangular type post and hole system. You can change the batteries in darkness if need be...

How large a light do you EDC?

What I carry varies by the daily need. It is usually something on the smaller side like a two cell SureFire or a Fenix PD35 UE. I have carried as large as a Notecore SRT-7 if need be. It is good to have that much flexibility at times....

*NEW* Fenix CL25R camping light,micro-usb rechargeable, max 350 lumens

I stand corrected. I had been using it in moonlight mode as a night light at night so of course it turned on in moonlight every time. D'uh! It does have last mode memory....Sorry folks. Honest mistake. I do wish it started in moonlight as I would personally rather cycle to high than be...

*NEW* Fenix CL25R camping light,micro-usb rechargeable, max 350 lumens

Mine arrived yesterday. Neutral tint. Always starts in moonlight. Switch has a nice feel to it. Very pleased with it thus far. Kind of wish it had built in storage for the USB cable but that would of course add to the size.
