    Always starts in low, then medium and high. No mode memory. Just compared it to the old model. The old E05 is a little brighter than medium on the new model.

    This looks cool. Don't see the switch but if that is placed in a good way and it has a good UI it can be a great light. The output is just fine for me. I have several lights that max at about 150-300 lumens and that's more than enough for most things. 45 lumens medium can be a good "general use"...

    Worth mentioning may be Maglite ML300L. Runs on 3 D-cells (also availible as 2 D with a little less output). Can also work with AA to D adapters. 625 lumens, 41200 cd, 406 meter.
