Replacement EDC and something a bit beefy to keep in the car.

I'm actually after two lights. The only thing that has put me off getting an atom so far is actually the magnet. I used to carry a pico pen on there but the magnet in the head of that caused annoying clumping on my keychain. I know what you mean about rechargeables, and I already have a case of...

Replacement EDC and something a bit beefy to keep in the car.

I presently keep a Mini ML on my key ring, but I'd like to try and get something a little smaller if poss, and haven't been following things for a while, so hopefully you guys can help me out. I'm also looking for something a bit more powerful to keep in the car. I'm thinking a 47s Atom AL and...

    Ultrafire-WF600 compatibility?

Assuming you're getting the WF500 from DX. These are absolutely NOT Surefire C tail compatible. At least mine isn't, which I got about 2 weeks ago. If you're going to use Protected 18650s then get AW ones, My blue trustfires need 'bumping' to light the stock bulb, and won't get close to...

    Nailbender SST-50: Battery Problem?

I live in the uk as well. postage is about a quid. AS far as AW cells go, get them direct from the MP. I've not had a customs problem with about 5 orders.

P60 Suggestions for L2 with Extender

Litho sells about every commonly used bulb in the MP here, check out the sticky in the Incan forum to determine how much light you want per charge. Heats not too big an issue unless you have it on for ages at a time. The nearest thing I know of as a turnkey is something like the WF500, thats...

Need something to wake me up

That'll probably work, but you'd be amazed how much of a difference have a light come on in gradually increasing brightness for the half hour before your alarm goes makes At least I was. I wound up with something a bit like this then bodged 4 warm white XREs into it. The result was a nice...

P60 Suggestions for L2 with Extender

P60 is a specific kind of lamp made by surefire to run on 2 primaries. D26 is the generic size of the dropin. This with a WA1111 and 2 AW 2600 18650 cells should comfortably manage 800 bulb lumens for about 35/40 minutes. Accounting for losses you're probably looking at about 650 OTF. I don't...

I want a DIY project...but have no clue

My first mods were simple emitter swaps, you can do this with any cheap soldering iron from your local hobby store and a bit of thermal glue. Drivers are no harder, you just have to look harder to find them. A good start would be P60 sized drop in mods, you can get hosts and drivers to suit...

    5 x Cree R2 drop-in

I can't speak for it fitting the WF600 you linked, it definately fits the Ultrafire WF500 (available in various different configurations, including that one). On a single 18650 I wouldn't be confident an 18650 could deliver the power needed for that unless its horribly under driven, which it...

    Nailbender SST-50: Battery Problem?

Redforest, I have a couple of cheap 123s that will suit for testing purposes. If you want PM me your address and you can have them for the price of postage.

P60 Suggestions for L2 with Extender

Theres any number of incan P60 dropins that will push that kind of output. A good start might be the FM D26 bi-pin dropin. 1000 lumens is readily acheivable with that setup, and the clicky should handle it for short periods of time (which is all you'll want to use really high powered incans...

    KD 32650 + Charger Set

Whats the current draw with that bulb? Probably the protection circuit (which is generally the same as the one on 18650s) is set too low, in multicell uses it's not unusual for only one to trip. Thats assuming your cells are protected of course

Where to buy XP-G Warm White R2 & Neutral White R3?

The phosphor is less efficient at producing the red end of the spectrum than the blue, hence the lower output with the same die. Outdoor white is somewhere between neutral and cool IIRC

    Nailbender SST-50: Battery Problem?

If you have some way of rigging it up (or a helpful friend) you could try running it on parallel batteries. FWIW I have a set of those batteries that will run an incan bulb at 3A (after a fair amount of 'bumping'), so they should be able to hold the current draw.
