    Magicshine with NIMH Battery Pack

Does anyone know if the magicshine will work with a NIMH battery pack such as one you would use in a radio controlled car? I have several 7.2v packs. I thought I could just wire up proper connectors and it would work. Would it damage the light? It seems like voltage is voltage regardless of...

    Fenix HP10 any good

I have both the HP10 and the PT Apex 130 lumen. The Fenix wins with runtime (120 for 7 hours) I believe. That's hard to beat. However, the PT wins in every other category including build quality. The battery pack is much much more comfortable and the head has excellent heatsinking. The beam...

Is this the new Princeton Tec EOS 70 lumen packaging?

Yes, I'm a fan as well. It's not regulated, which is a downside for me but I've been happy with PT products. I may try to get some comparison shots to my EOS 50lm for reference. It is noticeably brighter, but has a more green/yellow tint. Not quite sure. I haven't had it long enough to...

Is this the new Princeton Tec EOS 70 lumen packaging?

Just got back from REI. I purchased the new 70 lumen Remix. Here's a picture of the packaging. I'm assuming they will do the same thing for the EOS (just put a sticker over old lumen rating). That's what they did for the APEX upgrade as well.

    TK40 Color Temperature

yes, that's interesting. I too noticed this. The hotspot is a different tint than the flood. needless to say, I sent mine back today. Hopefully I'll get a good copy back.

    TK40 Color Temperature

that's interesting. Just curious why you prefer a warmer light. I've read a lot about warmer tints on these forums. What are some advantages in your mind?

    TK40 Color Temperature

good idea. Sounds like there are a couple others that may have greenish tints as well. I know it's subjective, but I deal with color temp all day as a photographer. I agree, you shouldn't have to play the 'lottery' with such an expensive light.

    TK40 Color Temperature

Yes I've read about tints of LED's etc. I just figured a $150 light would have a whiter color. I wanted to know if this is normal or if I have a bad copy. Does anyone have these lights to compare? p100a2 or hp10?

    TK40 Color Temperature

Does anyone know the color temp of the TK40? I just got mine today and it seems very green/yellow compared to my HP10 headlamp and my EagleTac P100A2. Just wondering if this is normal. Thanks.

    HP10 Turbo Mode Question

got my HP10 a week ago. It worked for less than a minute, after that it exhibited some weird behavior. Once it turned on I could not get it to turn off. After a while, the light would no longer turn on at all! I could never get the strobe function to work. Has anyone had problems with...

PT EOS IMPORTANT UPDATE PLS READ

Thanks for the info. When do you expect these will begin arriving at retailers? Also, do you plan an upgrade for the APEX?!!

    HP10 Turbo Mode Question

Thanks Patric, I've ordered the HP10 and look forward to using it. Here in the frozen tundra of Minnesota I'm guessing a temp sensitive control would make more sense. Oh well, I still look forward to comparing it to my APEX. Glad to hear that high mode is sufficient.

    HP10 Turbo Mode Question

Thanks, that's quite helpful. I think that's how I would use it as well. If high mode is just as bright as my Apex, then I think it would suffice for most situations. I guess 3 minutes is preferred over the momentary boost of Petzl lights. I'm interested to hear what others have to say...

    HP10 Turbo Mode Question

I've done some searching and can't seem to find a solid answer based on actual experience. When the turbo mode turns off after 3 minutes, can you just press the button again right away? Or is there some sort of 'lockout' feature that prevents turbo mode from being used in succession? Thanks...
