Yeah, I've been wondering about this myself. I also wonder if it is OK to add another extension tube and use 3 18650's without harming the ACE-G's electronics? I realize that technically 3 18650's are still within the voltage range that the ACE-G is supposed to be able to handle.
I just got an ACE-G yesterday and tried this. I used 4 SureFire 123A's and the light became too hot to handle after about 45 minutes on continuous runtime. I do have to hand it to the ACE-G though, on its runtime using a single 18650 cell. I got over 2 hours with an Ultrafire 3000 mAh cell...
Does nobody out there not know about this? I really need to know this prior to ordering the replacement emitter/reflector from Tiablo to "upgrade" my existing ACE. I'm mainly trying to get longer run times from a single 18650 or 2 123A's (not having to use the cumbersome "extender" tube.
'Quoting myself here, but I really need to know, if possible, if I can screw the ACE-G emitter/reflector assembly directly on my ACE barrel before I order these parts from Tiablo. I don't want to if there not going to work on my light (ACE). Does anyone out there know what's the story here for...
What I'm trying to determine is, since the ACE-G has a working range of 2.7V to 18V, can I finally get a usable run time from one 18650 cell? I cannot get but about 15 minutes at best with even a 3000mAh 18650 from my standard ACE. Assumedly, since this light can use down to 2.7 V it would run...
Is the threading & diameter of the barrel/emitter the same as my Tiablo ACE (garden variety) as it is in the new ACE-G? In other words, would I be able to retrofit my ACE to being an ACE-G with the addition of just the the reflector and emitter while using my existing battery tube and switch...
Is the threading & diameter of the barrel/emitter the same as my Tiablo ACE (garden variety)? In other words, would I be able to retrofit my ACE to being an ACE-G with the addition of just the the reflector and emitter while using my existing battery tube and switch? I'm finding that I'm getting...
I have a Tiablo ACE that can run on anything from 3.7-12 volts. I'd rather use the light without the extension tube which permits either 4 123A's or 2 18650's (or 1 18650 & 2 123A's).
Since I'm wanting to stay with rechargeables and not with the extension tube, I'm finding my possibilities are...
I am contemplating purchasing a Pila ($49) charger for my assorted mix of 18650 batteries. I have several sets from 2200-3000mAh, AW's, Pila's, Ultrafire's & Tenergy's. I am currently using a cheapo (TL-100 Universal-$15) from Battery Junction.
My question here is, is there that much of a...
I have a Tiablo ACE light with a Cree MC-E LED that supposedly puts out 700 lumens. It is an extremely bright light.
Since I work in a store that also sells these lights , I thought, that after using the light for probably 6 hours of burn time, I'd just compare it to a brand new unit out of the...
I have a cheapo generic TL-100 charger from Battery Junction that I'm finding takes almost 24 hours to indicate that it has fully charged a set of UltraFire 18650 3000mAh batteries. This seems like a terribly long time. Is this par for this charger/battery combination? Is it just that the...
