    I've come full circle!

Well said. When packing some lights for work, I have to remind myself to have "one" LED in the gear bag. Usually 2 incans to 1 LED. The E2E is still one of my all time favorites.

    Are CR123 Primary Cells Dead?

CR123's in Canada are cost effective and plentiful if you know where to look. I just received 4 dozen. The form factor of a typical 2 cell 123 cell light makes for a comfortable light with the features I like. For folks that enjoy the hobby and playing around with lights, rechargeable makes alot...

Design of reflector/lens to separately control flood & throw?

Have one of those as well and you're correct in how annoying the clicking around got to be. Battery life was an issue for me as well as a beam that I couldn't seem to adjust to my liking. Wanted to like it, one of my first quality flashlights, but now just rattles in a drawer.

Why do companies still manufacture incandescent flashlights?

For many years (almost 30) I've lived and died by a flashlight. Far more often than not, it's been some incarnation of incandescent I trust, usually a Surefire or a Streamlight/Pelican, that gets clipped to my gear. I have LED, but no matter what, I always have incandescent with me. There's just...

Where would a fellow Canadian buy a surefire light?

In Calgary, 911 Supply has a nicely stocked store and online. Haven't ever been into Warriors and Wonders in Vancouver but have gotten great service from both vendors. W & Wonders has a online store front as well.

    Incandescent Vs Led

Still mostly about incandescent over this way. Have enough LEDs but my favorites are incan, old Surefires. The only exception is 2 warm tint Malkoff's from Oveready. The light just appears more natural to me. I will admit that the spare lamp idea can get old, but it just seems to be worth it...

    [Pics]Surefire's QC and Quality declined

I've seen and done similar damage to my Z44 bezels and would recommend Oveready's bezel ring wholeheartly to perevent damage. But I've also done OK without. Just wondering if the OP got the light without packaging, if it's been "gently used" by someone else and sold as new.

How do you find twisty heads

Twist bezel kinda takes me back to the old Pelicans at work. They were a good work light and while you could turn one on one handed, while holding onto something like a ladder, it does seem like a step backwards. Maybe for mode changes it'd be OK where you just twist to fine tune light output.

    [Pics]Surefire's QC and Quality declined

The knockoff explanation for unusual poor finish may be far fetched, but after spending time on a watch forum and seeing what can be done to cash in on a products recognition, it may not be too outlandish. Proper packaging materials are not even a gaurentee of authenticity when you see...

Paul Kim (PK) is NO longer with Surefire (official news/info)

Well said Monocrom. It's a phrase that tends to be tossed around a little too causually without enough consideration of some folks contributions to their organization. My bosses boss likes to mention that no one can't be replaced. The fact is however, that I just don't see any brightlights in...

Anyone else glad to see more side switch options?

That's what started me out, the Steamlight TL. They and Pelican were what I cut my teeth on. For those of us that require intrinsically safe, that's about all you had (not the Twin Task) besides the throughly lame, Brightstar. Didn't take long for the poor incan battery life and beam shape to...

    SureFire Dominator is coming

I just have to wonder what 2000 lumens looks like. Might have to take baby steps seeing as I'm only up to about 300+. Perhaps some day I'll pony up the cash to see what Surefires offerings at 800 or 900 lumens are like. Am thinking that it's a very nicely built light but I'm always leary of...

Benchmade Griptilian springs breaking, #4 and counting

It certainly has been mentioned by some users. I'm not sure if it would rate, "known issue", but some folks seem to have unusually poor luck with some of the Axis Benchmades as it's been discussed occasionally on the knife forums.

    Surefire closing down edged-weapons division

Well said James. I just never had one Surefire knife appeal to me except the 3V fixed blade (and I make my own outta 3V that's somewhat more mellow appearing). The price kinda kept me uninterested as well and I have a number of CRK's as well. Wondered how long they were going to try their hand...
