    Sold/Expired Elektrolumens XM-3 body

Elektrolumens XM-3 body. It's in pretty good condition on the exterior. I had a battery (curse you Duracell!) leak inside the cylinder and it's currently stuck in there. It does still work since I've had it light up when I had a screwdriver complete the circuit between the battery and led...

I am 122 lbs over weight?

BMI isn't always a good indicator of whether you're carrying a healthy amount of weight. A lot of pro athletes are technically obese by their BMI's. Whether you're overweight depends on a lot of factors, like how athletic you are, how big a frame you have, etc. And then there's genetics...

Ideas, tips and tricks to get extra mpg out of a vehicle

Heh, I like that eggs under the pedal trick. I'm going to have to remember that one. I was just going to say that the easiest thing to do would be to adjust your driving habits. i.e. Don't do hard accelerations and stops all the time. Anticipate needing to stop so you can coast to a stop...

    ??blue light and alertness

Interesting. I've got a projection clock that projects blue numbers onto my ceiling. I've always thought the reflected blue light was soothing and helped me sleep. Maybe it's actually keeping me awake longer since I'm staring at the ceiling...

    5mm LED failure (flashing)

Ah... that explains a lot. I had a similar blinking problem that only manifested itself when the voltages got to a certain level. It all makes sense now.

    Glow powder glows under pressure?

Hmmm... interesting. I wonder if vibrations from a painted speaker would be enough to get it to glow. I'd try painting a subwoofer, but I think my housemate would probably kill me since it is his speaker setup.

HELP! I have an incredibly bad neihbor

While I do like the idea of shooting out the lights (the ice cube and slingshot idea was brilliant  if you think you're accurate enough with the slingshot), I don't think it's going to solve anything. Having the neighbors visited by your cousins Guido and Vinny would solve matters pretty...

HELP! I have an incredibly bad neihbor

Wow, I knew there were real a--holes out there, but it's hard for me to imagine it since I've never been around people so inconsiderate (only encountered clueless people so far, not inherently punks). I wonder if it's possible to reflect the light back at them? Is there no neighborhood...

What will you carry New Year's Eve?!

Let's see, I plan on having some ID, hangover meds, emergency cab fare... oh, you meant which lights!:drunk::green::sick2: Fenix L1P and a keychain light get me through most days. Probably won't carry anything different. Then again, I probably won't be out partying since oddly enough...

    After Christmas sales on lights?

Re: Target Closeout on LED lights I picked up a set of the 4 led lights. They're not the most fabulous lights in the world, but they are definitely a good price for the set of decent low end lights. I actually like the fact that the 1AAA and 1AA lights are kind of dim. They are perfect for...

    Most efficient grow lights? LEDs?

There's another thread about this in the LED forum: http://candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=101891 LEDs should work fine as growlights. You can even buy led growlights, although the price for larger clusters is probably far more expensive than an equivalent HID growlight setup...

Replacement of leds in the Streamlight Baton light

    LED's for growing seedlings?

I did a rough back of the envelope calculation years ago, and it does seem feasible to use LEDs as growlights. I haven't recalculated in a while to take into account brighter & cheaper LEDs, but the conclusion I had was that LED growlights were feasible for small setups (i.e. a few plants, like...
