Pop a globe type diffuser on there and you've got an area light in places where it's inconvenient to hang the light.

I've been studying the various Mag builds and from what you say you want, you would be better off using using two of your 18650s with a spacer. That gives you a more manageable voltage and opens up the use of 5 cell mag krypton, 6 cell magnum star as well as the Pelican L. You can build any...

I don't think you will be dissapointed. I've had my AA2 R2 for about a week and I really love it. Superb fit and finish. The prism is a cool add on with the diffuser (it does suck up a lot of light, but works ok on high for area lighting). I also like the tint, seems very neutral...
As a newbie, I've been doing a lot of reading here myself. And some buying..... :D
One of the best deals on a general all around light I've found is the Nuwai TM115X. Body size is pretty standard for 2 X CR123a batteries, with a bulbous head to hold the spot to food optic. By no means is it the...
Try it out and if it's not bright enough I'm sure you could trade it in on the full power flood (30 day satisfaction guarantee).
The only real problem I've had with mine is that now the rest of my flashlights seem kinda lame.
:sigh:
Just got the M60LF for my G2 and I love it. Seems as bright as the Surefire standard lamp (rated 65 OTF), but lights up a whole room instead of just a 3 foot hot spot. Unless you need the additional brightness to tactically clear larger than normal rooms (or you just want that knock your socks...
I use the ultraflex 2, works great. I also have a 10 year old original model incandescent Mighty Bright that won't die, even though it's been dropped numerous times and beat to crap in my gig bag. Reasonably priced, great quality stuff.
Took a look at my local WMs, Stone Mtn had only the $39.99 version, Tucker had a whole rack of the $29.99 belt clip version. Well, I would have been losing money not to buy one.....
Seems like y'all are arguing apples and oranges. One is is an affordable "pro" type solution, the other an emergency light you use until the professionals get there.
For me, I like to have the best tools I can afford. I get a lot of satisfaction from that, just plain pride of ownership. Others...
Can't really tell about how much wiggle room they built into those lights. If they are safe with Energizer lithium AAAs, then your adapter should work. Email Mighty Bright and ask.
Otherwise, the Shack has a 4.5 volt adapter that should work. I run mine off an old multi mode converter at 4.5.
Mighty Bright XtraFlex 2 at Amazon, Barnes and Noble etc. Uses 3 AAA batteries. Clip on or use the battery holder/clip as a base. Always had good luck with this brand.
