Sold/Expired FREE - Just Make Us Laugh!

I was driving a friend's sports car and going fast down the highway. Then I see the lights on a highway patrol car in my rearview. I really didn't want to be caught in my friends car, so my first instinct was to floor it and outrun him. But he kept up with me so I figured this was stupid so I...

-- MJLED AA MagMod mini review --

I just received my order of mjleds. I have to agree that this is one of the best mini-mag upgrades I've seen yet. For 5 bucks it makes a fairly crappy light into a great unit. The beam is smooth and round. It's like the old surefire p60 series in shape and lack of rings. I'm not sure why...

New Nuwai 5 Watt LED Torch comparison

Thanks for the information. After your earlier post, I bought the 59 er from LF and its a good light. Definitely worth the money. By the way, did you by any chance buy their xenon 3-cell light? I'd be curious about it, mainly because they marked it down to 24.95. Another good price.

5 Watt LS or Xenon??? Help Please!

Re: 5 Watt LS or Xenon??? Help Please! Not to get off the subject, but has anybody bought the 3 cell xenon light and tried it? It is now on sale for 24.95. That's pretty good for a 3-lithium cell light. If they made the 5 watt luxeon that cheap I'd but a bunch of them.

    L6 Vs TL3-LED vs Nuwai ALX-053L All are 5 Watt LED's

Re: L6 Vs TL3-LED vs Nuwai ALX-053L All are 5 Watt Nikola, Thanks to your input I bought the Nuwai from Lifestyle fascination. I agree it is a winner. It is very bright, better than the TL-3. The focus is the same but the Nuwai is clearly brighter at a distance. In fact, it seemed the same...

    Desk Light....need some pointers

I've had a lot of desk lamps and I've concluded for my needs that a compact fluorescent is best. Costco sells something called an OttLight that us a 13 watter, but puts out a LOT of light and stays cool. I actually prefer the light of a 50 watt or higher halogen, but these guys get too hot...

    Surefire Hurricane Blackout lamp

Chaz, I think that is exactly right. I can tell you for sure that two fresh 123's with the 5mm nichias I used two years ago would get very bright, hot and die in a few seconds. I believe I measured the 2x2016 at some point long ago. Under the load of the nichia, it gave about 4 volts on fresh...

    Surefire Hurricane Blackout lamp

I remember talking about this back in the early days of the forum when we did not have luxeons to fascinate us. I made this mod and it works well to this day. Because the bulb and battery spring are made just right for the box, I used the bulb base, carefully shattered the glass, dug out the...

    Streamlight TL-2 question

I'm really pretty impressed with this light and at a close rang, it is as bright in the hotspot as a surefire P61, but its hotspot is much smaller. The TL-3 xenon is brighter and has even better throw, but is physically bigger. It isn't as easy to carry. The TL-2 is perfect for a long throw...

    The little forgotten light...

Oh boy oh boy. There's the next one. I was going to stop after the TL2 for this year. Thanks for the info!

    The little forgotten light...

Last night I was at a practice with my son and I show this TL-2 to one of the guys who runs the place. So I shine it across the street on a row of houses about 150 feet away. It was like a small version of handheld spotlight. Boy was he blown away. He wanted the name, where to get, and...

    The little forgotten light...

Well, thanks to you guys I got a TL-2 and it is an impressive thrower. It might use the same bulb as the Scorpion, but it's way different at 50 feet. It projects really well at 100 feet. Very impressive. The scorpion is a better flood light for me. The TL-2 hot spot is smaller, brighter...

    UKE 2L

This is an under appreciated light. It is sturdy, lasts a long time on a set of batteries, and will stay in storage a long time. I've got one in every car for emergencies. I however don't use it in the house for emergencies. Only because there is a flashlight in nearly every room already. As...

    Streamlight TL-2 - Why Not?

As always, thanks for the good discussion. I have two scorpions, and I must say the beams were very different. One was very smooth and focused, the other was blotchy and off center. I found I could fix it by unscrewing the bezel and seating the bulb more firmly in the socket. If you do this...

What is brightest, smallest light available?

Just one more light to consider: I'm really impressed with Lambda's Nano-mate, which is a little smaller than a AA cell, fits easily on a keychain and in the pocket, uses a 1 watt luxeon with ARC mania's driver circuit and it is amazing for it's size. It will put a clear spot clear across a big...
