    Test/Review of Charger 1.5A 3.6-4.2V (TP5000)

Restarts? Can anyone speak more to the restart issue? Will that really shorten cell life? Better chip? Is there another chip of similar price that can handle LiFePO4 at 2A? Overcharge problem? Has anyone seen this problem: I was charging an A123 cell with this chip at 1A. Did 2 or 3 charge...

[Solved] How To Calibrate XL4015 Module Current?

Re: How To Calibrate XL4015 Module Current? Awesome answer, @hiuintahs! More info to help others: In constant-current mode, the boost will deliver a constant-current, no matter the load (hence the name). The current pot sets the current only for constant-current mode. Once the charger...

[Solved] How To Calibrate XL4015 Module Current?

Hi, i picked up one of these cheap charger modules, based on the XL4015 chip: Current and voltage are set with the 2 trimmer pots. How can i calibrate the output current? Can i connect my ammeter directly to the output? Or must i connect the meter in series with a load? thx

    A123 ANR26650M1A Questions!

Hi Julian I have some 26650 A123 ANR26650M1A cells. The datasheet says: What does that mean? This other A123 page says: What does that mean? What is the recommended "full" voltage, and recommended "empty" voltage? Recommended to charge to 4.2V? Many thanks

How can this be? Li-Ion brought back from 0.1v to full power and working strong?

"pop"? That sounds like maybe the behavior of a built-in protection circuit. The protection circuits that are built into SOME li-ions prevents over-discharge, by turning off the cell when the voltage drops to about 2.5 volts. So as the battery gets used up, when it reaches about 2.5 volts, it...

How can this be? Li-Ion brought back from 0.1v to full power and working strong?

i've read it's safe to jumpstart a li-ion if it has been discharged for less than 2 weeks.

How can this be? Li-Ion brought back from 0.1v to full power and working strong?

i have read that after a couple weeks, the chemistry of a li-ion changes and becomes dangerous. the article said if the battery takes more than 1 minute to revive, then it's a goner.

Hobby charger: never charge a protected battery

it seems to me that a protected battery is essentially a battery with it's own built in charger. i think you would be able to charge a protected battery directly off a wall-wart, without any external charger circuit. The battery will protect itself. No?
