Thank you very much for your help & experiences. I thought that I remembered it that way, but just wasn't certain.
Any news on upcoming models? I'm curious about another EDC-size light? My post-Christmas budget likely won't suffice to procure one, but I'm still curious!
So... Which end are we supposed to take off to change the batteries? I remember not completely understanding the first post about it.
Thanks for the help -John
Even getting in on the early waiting list/prebuy phase, this light was almost twice the cost of the initial Enthusiast version. Being a flashaholic with a wife & 3 kids is tough to say the least, but Michael has always pulled through for me with the bugs that my enthusiast & dad's later model...
I really does... I wonder if there's any public way to confirm that our boys up in the space station can see 'em?

+1, but as long as you only run it for a few seconds (i.e. less than 10 at a time) you would probably be fine. Again, always best to use the same types of cells together though.
Not to blatantly point out the obvious, but a product that spawns a thread actively lasting over a year is a strong testament to Michael's workmanship, dedication and overall successes. I'm glad to have been a part of this ride, even if there were enough 'are we there yets?' to cause us all to...
TEEJ, I'm no photog by any means, but I used a low F stop (3.5, 4.0) and a high ISO (3200 I think) on full manual mode with 6 seconds of exposure and only light winds to deal with. Setting the portrait timer for a few seconds will keep you from having to go all-out with the remote setup. But...
By the way, taking this shot almost made me dizzy when I was lining it all up--the beam goes so far that it looks like it's bending back toward you. Or, maybe my patio is just unlevel! ;)
I wanted to throw in my two cents worth on the cool white: I'm glad to have gotten it. The beam is by no means cool-tinted in my opinion. It looks to be far more of a neutral tint than any of my other LED lights. And, my DEFT X is bright enough to light up anything you can see at night without...
Really want to remove my notice of USPS inflammatory comment removal due to attending anger management class... oh wait--no; just because it wasn't inflammatory. Please PM for examples of inflammation; I'm a good source since I've got chronic arthritis and acute sarcasm. (Saying that a package...
I hope they can find the mail tonight & send it up the hill to me.
Inflammatory comment re USPS removed.....CPF Rule 4.
Congrats to the guys who just got their DEFTs! Thanks for the awesome job you did on everyone's lights Michael!
Michael, I would gladly take a plain version if it would be a lot easier than converting the LED to cool/neutral-white version. I have to admit though, that I'd prefer at least a partial refund of the payment for this option if you don't mind.
PS: Feel free to PM me if you want...
Thank you Michael. We appreciate your aggressive R&D & your dedication. I hope you get to keep a few super-prototype X's to play with on clear nights, yet still sell enough to get back in the black! After all, we are customers; since your price was set a year ago we're getting quite a bit more...
