    Second purchase (1xAA Light)

I like my Dereelight C2H with the $6 extender. I run Eneloops and 14500s in it. When I run out of those (don't always have time to recharge them), I can just remove the extender and run 123s in it when I need to. Flexible, bright, looks great and feels great in the hand.

reliable leave in the car light?

Most any light that uses a lithium battery (be it AA or CR123) will work fine. Lithiums work well in cold weather. I'd recommend a single cell light over a multi-cell simply because if one cells dies, you have no light. Each of my cars has a 1x123 light with a CR123 loaded and 1 or 2 spare...

    EagleTac Triple XML T6 M3C4

That's interesting news, but I don't think it will be much brighter than the 1-XML model. ET won't be able to drive 3-XMLs at full power, so if anything, it will be marginally brighter (which won't be easily noticeable by the eye) and have a bit more runtime (since running each LED at lower...

Question for Nitecore Defender Infinty owners

I sold my NDI a while back so I don't recall the exact difference in output between eneloop and 14500 cells. It may be a couple of things (or both). 1. It's hard to tell difference in outputs because our eyes perceive brightness increases logarithmically (not linearly). 2. The NDI uses a...

    Regulated Vs PWM

Without getting too technical... Regulation can be in both voltage or current (power) forms. PWM is a method to perform regulation (not a type of regulation). PWM stands for Pulse Width Modulation. In a switch mode power supply (SMPS), the frequency is typically held constant while the...

How to change driver in Nitecore Extreme?

I've read you can access the LED by unscrewing the bezel in the Nitecore Extreme, but is the driver also accessible to be changed? If so, what diameter is the driver? Thanks for any help.

    Does this light exist?

I actually have a light like this already, but it's a mish-mash of brands. It's my wife's favorite light, but I'm wondering if there's anything else like this available (even using a different mish-mash of parts). - Under 6.5 long - Max diameter (any part of light) 1.3 - 400+ OTF Lumens...

Jetbeam - Nitecore - Sunwayman the same brand?

There was a picture someone posted of a booth at a trade show that housed both Jetbeam and Nitecore with the booth's name seeming to be the name of the parent company. A recent picture introducing a Ti Jetbeam TC2 also showed a Ti Sunway M10R. And the Sunway V10R with infinite variable...

    26500 and 32650 Li-Ion batteries?

Aside from AW's IMR 26500s, does anyone know of other 26500 and 32650 Li-Ion (or similar chemistry that delivers 3.7V nom) available and if so where? I'm looking for a pair of each. Ideally protected cells. Thanks.

    Dereelight XP-G R4 neutral white

After seeing the wonderful tint of my XP-G R4 5B Kuku E-series drop-in, I decided I wanted more neutral tints. But it seems most (if not all) mfrs only use XP-Es or XR-Es for their neutral offerings, which result in much lower output than their cool white XP-G counterparts. So I picked up a...

Anyone know where to pick up a few MC-E M-bin emitters on an MCPCB? Thanks.

    Sunway M40C or Eagletac M3C4-XPG?

While I don't have the funds now to get this, I'd like to pick up one of these in the future. They're very similar in physical design and I like the size (as opposed to the thin, long lights of similar output). Commonalities include: - Both take 4x123s or 2x18650s in a parallel setup -...

I would like to upgrade to something brighter

When we went trick-or-treating this year, I brought my Dereelight C2H which pumps out near 250 OTF lumens and my ITP A6. Many of the streets have no lighting at all and the C2H was fine with providing enough light to see what I needed to. However, with my 2yr old with us, I wanted to see...
