    Light you regret NOT buying

Black E1e when they were on closeout. And many years ago when Sportsman's Warehouse was going through bankruptcy and the local store had SF G2 lights for $19.99 in every color. I paid full price for a black, a yellow, and a tan G2, but never got a green G2. Basically, I just kick myself for...

How to salvage Maglite with corroded batteries?

Mag used to repair or replace any Mag flashlight damaged by alkaline batteries manufactured by Duracell, Energizer, or Ray-O-Vac. However, this warranty is no longer in effect, as it was canceled some time ago. I had a couple of Mini-Mags that had corroded and chose to just throw them away...

Is the Maglite Cost cutting on there new D Flashlights?

Prior to changing to the bi-pin bulb, I also noticed the 2 changes the OP pointed out. fivemaga's pictures clearly show the change in + terminal contact. The 2nd change the OP noticed was that the bulb holder changed color, if not material. It went from a gold or brass color to a silver color...

How do I complete the SureFire games?

Send a postcard or letter. Be succinct, direct, and polite and I bet you get what you need. Of course provide all contact information and specify mailing address to use for any parts you're requesting. I've always used the phone, but it's only a 3 hour time difference as I'm on the east coast...

    Eneloop Killers

I assume AA Eneloops are slightly longer than regular AA alkaline batteries. I have a desk safe that takes 4 AA batteries to operate the keypad and disengage the lock. I decided to use eneloops until I could buy some alkies. Like a numbnut I forced the 'loops into place. A couple are now...

    Why 2D to 3C Maglight

The choice in Malkoff Mag Drop-ins used to be either 2-3 cell or 4-6 cell. Now the choice is either a 2 cell or 3-6 cell drop-in. 3 cells provided better performance out of the 2-3 cell version.

How well would an Al Z44 bezel on a nitrolon body heatsink?

I have not reread the recommendations made by Gene on his site in quite some time. However, my recollection is that a M61 can be used w/o limitation with an aluminum bezel on a nitrolon body. And a M61L can be used w/o limit on a completely nitrolon G2.

would an orange peel reflector improve a maglite?

Thanks! Answers my question perfectly. I apologize for bringing up LED in the Incan forum. I need to remember when I do a search to be cognizant of which forum the thread is in. I still like incans and use a stock E2e quite often. The throw from this little light still impresses me.

would an orange peel reflector improve a maglite?

Anyone used the aluminum reflector from Kaidomain with a Malkoff drop-in? The main reason I ask relates to the 1/8" of length that is supposed to remain after cutting the stock reflector. I have converted one 2-D Mag with a Malkoff 2-3D drop-in and simply cut the stock reflector. From the...

Are CR2 flashlights a dying breed?

The last time the CR2 was considered obsolete, Nitecore came out with the EZ series and 4Sevens made the Mini. Both seemed to sell very well. Here's hoping it happens again. But in truth, as long as there are CR2 batteries, I'm content with my Nitecore CR2 EZ.

INFORMAL SURVEY: What do you think about lights that aren't BLACK??

Need more tan. So sayeth the Tan Man. My family has given me this moniker, because 99% of my clothes are varying shades of tan.

    Whats the most overrated flashlight?

For me it has been Quark. When I joined CPF, there was enormous enthusiasm for this brand. As a newcomer, I inferred from what I read that Quark was a revolutionary change in the way lights were designed and manufactured. While I really like the UI and size of these lights, I have found the...

    All the New Brands

There just seems to have been an increase in the frequency of new brand announcements being made recently, and I wondered what was driving it. Is the number of flashlight geeks really increasing that fast? Who else beside CPFers even know these brands? Is CPF increasing its numbers? The...

Surefire 6 pack with battery case

I've seen SF 2pks at Lowes for $5. As pointed out above, quality CR123 cells are easily found online for $2 or less. A 4pk of lithium AA or AAA at walmart is usually $6.99 or $1.75 each. Alkaline AA and AAA are usually about $0.50 each and you will use at least 4 alkaline for every 1 lithium...
