    How reliable is a MiniMag?

I've been EDCing a 2 AA Mini-Mag off and on since 1997 in a belt holster and only burned out incandescent bulbs stopped it from working every time I needed it.

Question for Fenix TK45 Owners - Head Wobble

Mine isn't like that, but I wouldn't worry too much about it.

    On the TerraLUX TLE-300M-EX LED

Thanks for the review Stephen. Since you have had experience with the old Terralux drop-in, I was very interested in your review. How does the throw distance of the new TLE-310M-EX compare to the old TLE-300M-EX? I still have and use the TLE-300M-EX so I'm wondering if it's worth it to...

    Cheapest light for cloud lighting

I think that it depends on how low the clouds are where you're shining your light. When I was on the shores of the Monterey Bay (California) on vacation, I was able to light up the low clouds with my Sunforce HID spotlight that I bought on sale for about $90. Further inland in the South Bay...

Has anyone seen the spotlight at costco lately? Its Huge!

Thanks Igniteor for finding that voltage regulator on eBay. Please report how it works out in your spotlight. Did you shim the Silverstar bulb in your reflector?

Has the LED finally reached HID out put?

I think that there will still be markets for both HID spotlights and powerful LED flashlights as both have different purposes and both do their jobs well. Spotlights, as you mentioned, are a very cost effective way to light up distant objects. LED flashlights that can shine as far as my HID...

Mini Mag 2AA LED Upgrade (TerraLUX TLE-5EX MiniStar2 Extreme?)

A while back a CPF member did resistance tests on all the switches available for 2 AA Mini-Maglites. The Terralux one (model TCS-1) was the only one that had the same resistance as the part that it replaces, the stock aluminum tail cap. The Nite Ize one had the highest resistance. Other CPF...

Is this spotlight even available any more? It seems to be always listed as "out of stock" lately.

    What lights have you lost?

Then only light that I can remember losing was an old 2 AAA powered aluminum Brinkmann light that was a rip off of a Mini-Maglite. That was when I was a kid.

Has anyone seen the spotlight at costco lately? Its Huge!

The box has absolutely no indication who actually made the light. It just says "Imported by Costco Wholesale Corporation" on the side. The front of the box says the following: ITM./ART. 548284 The SKU number is 9364501515.

Hehe, that's why you have to buy it when she's not with you. ;)

What did you use your flashlight for today?

Tonight my wife and I went to see a movie. By the time it was over, all the other stores at the mall were closed and the parking lot was pretty deserted. There were a few questionable looking groups of teenagers milling around in the parking lot. It was dark and some of the lights in the...

Where do you buy your lights?

I've bought all of mine on the internet. The local retailers have basically zero selection. I did find a place that sold a few 4 Sevens and Fenix flashlights the other day, but they were way overpriced.

Are you referring to the semi-circular beam pattern? My Peak halogen light has the same pattern when on low-beam.
