How similar does voltage need to be with 18650's (rechargeables) to avoid danger ?

I no longer use more than one Li-Ion in any of my torches ... Differences in cell voltages no longer matter ... I also never run my 18650's down too low. My 2D Maglite with the Fusion shower-head now uses six AA Eneloops instead of the two 18650's and I am much happier this way. My Wife's...

in need of battery help 18650

There are lots of one dollar lights on ebay and other sites that use a single AA battery and others that use three AAA batteries ... These are great for children or even for Wives purses (handbags) ... If you use good quality rechargeable batteries for example Eneloops , they will give years of...

How long can we keep Sanyo Eneloops in flashligts ?

I use these in my car, in two torches ... One is a single AA and the other is a three AAA torch ... I tend to test them both (each year) before the Winter begins ... I also keep spare batteries in the car glove-box. .

How long can we keep Sanyo Eneloops in flashligts ?

I tend to forget about the AA and AAA Eneloops that are in my ITP A2's and A3's. When I remember (every twelve months or so), I top up these Eneloops ... It is usually more than twelve months now that I actually think about it. My torches are key-ring type torches and therefore have very...

    best 18650 battery and charger

Re: Recommend rechargeables for my torches? I use the 3100mAh protected Panasonics ... The price is much better than the 3400mAh cells ... I am not worried about the extra 300mAh capacity of the more expensive cells. .

    Improved Maha C9000…

It looks as though an accurate digital voltmeter would be useful for your voltage checks ... A decent DMM will generally give a more accurate reading than a meter incorporated into a battery charger ... My 6000 count Fluke 175 reads 5.000V when checked against my 5.00V Precision Voltage...

    Improved Maha C9000…

Most of us prefer the 1000mA charge rate as we have , in general , more AA's than AAA's and for me the 500mA is higher than the 400mA that I always use for my AAA's ... If the default charge rate was 500mA , I would have to alter the charge rate every time I used the charger. Luckily it...

    Improved Maha C9000…

I guess you are entitled to your own opinion , even if it is different to the vast majority of other users and manufacturers. . As has been said many times , the only way to tell the battery capacity of a NiMh cell is to fully charge it then fully discharge it whilst monitoring the mAh capacity...

Maha C9000 NLee the engineer Misleading review

I only ever use 1000mA when charging my AA Eneloops ... I only ever use 500mA when charging my AAA Eneloops. As such , the C9000 is perfect for all my NiMh cells ... I do have far more spare AA's than AAA's . so the only time that I have to press buttons is when I occasionally charge the AAA's...

Metered, Higher-End Lithium Cell Charger Wanted (??)

They can sell loads of AA and AAA chargers , so it is worth the trouble there. The market for Li-Ion chargers is tiny by comparison , so not really worth the development costs particularly if you want a charger with an accurate meter display ... There is no point in having a display if it isn't...

What material for battery tubes / 18650 holder?

Some of my 3AAA torches (for example Solarforce L2i) will accept 18650 batteries in a tube ... I just use a piece of plastic tubing that is used by plumbers ... Don't know what it is made of , but it works perfectly. .

    Li-Ion Charge rates.

I only ever charge at one amp even with my Panasonic 18650's , using my very cheap (Ebay) charger boards ... I don't have any of the Panasonic 3400mAh cells yet ... If or when I do buy some , I will use two of the charger boards in parallel ... I also only use a one amp charge rate on my AA...

do i have a dud 18650 or am i missing something stupid

In most peoples opinion , he shouldn't be using Li-Ions without having an accurate voltmeter at his disposal ... Without a meter there is no way to tell the charge state of a Li-Ion battery ... He might be over-discharging the cells on a regular basis , perhaps relying on the protection circuit...

    AA Battery chargers any recommendations?

Over many years , I have bought lots of chargers for AA and AAA batteries ... I have wasted lots of money by getting chargers "that would do" instead of getting a proper one initially ... As I got "better" chargers , I gave my cheaper ones to relatives and friends (along with my non-LSD...

Really cheap true cc/cv usb charging board

The thickest place is where the Mini-USB socket is fitted ... 5.02mm on mine. If you are going to fit this into a tight space , you will need to ventilate the chip as it gets very warm ... I've sent off for some small heatsinks (to fit to the reverse of the board) and I use my charger board...
