Lithonia LED Dusk to Dawn Light

I did replace my halogen light. I ended up with a 10 watt led flood from the internet. I wanted LED as I knew there was something out there that would give me the output and color I was out there. Energy savings were important as well. The light has a lot of flood, much more than the two head...

Lithonia LED Dusk to Dawn Light

I thought about it but the light was already $145 and I didn't want to put any more into it. I have cree eave lights and under cabinet lights in my kitchen and love them. They are all custom and run off of Meanwell drivers and I was thinking about building a light for the garage but don't have...

Lithonia LED Dusk to Dawn Light

So I poked around a bunch at Home Depot after I returned the light. I found the light housing you linked and I like it. It's actually the base version of what the LED one replaced. The one I have has motion and dusk to dawn though. I don't like or want the motion so I like your fixture. I need...

Lithonia LED Dusk to Dawn Light

I agree on the small amounts of light. I like the idea of the sides of the garage door but it's a big project. The high peak is something I have to contend with. A flood light was up there when we moved in but it only worked half the time. I replaced it with a flood with bulbs that have a G8...

Lithonia LED Dusk to Dawn Light

Here we go. I like the specs on this one. 700 lumens compared to the 1600 on the Home Depot one. It also states color and it's where I need it. http://www.dealextreme.com/p/10w-3300k-700lm-warm-white-led-flood-light-85-265v-96061 I know these have been posted about here but I can't find them...

Lithonia LED Dusk to Dawn Light

This is my front entry way for comparison. They are crees at about 3300k. Nice and warm and not intrusive. This is also a cell phone pic in the rain but it shows the Malibu lights and the old motion light at 50%. I liked this look much more. I'm not looking to do a review or anything...

Lithonia LED Dusk to Dawn Light

I've wanted one of these lights for awhile and finally bought one this past week. I had a motion light above the garage that would turn on at dusk and stay at 50% until it sensed motion and then it would kick onto 100%. The biggest problem I had with that light is the power draw. 75 watts at 50%...

    DIY Cree Eave Lighting

It's an XR-e model. I just don't know the bin. It's around 3300K so that puts it below a Q5. Maybe a Q3? Here is some useful Cree info: http://www.cree.com/products/pdf/XLamp7090XR-E.pdf If you look at this link: http://www.cree.com/products/pdf/XLamp7090XR-E_B&L.pdf Go to page 7. I think...

    DIY Cree Eave Lighting

I used a Meanwell LPC-20-350 and am running 11, 1 watt emitters. The emitters are bare. There is no cover and I haven't used any seal spray. I've seen the spray but I've been having great luck with these. They have already been through the wet spring season and right now we have very thick...

Completed DIY Cree security/eave lighting project

I used my radial arm saw to make the cuts. A small table saw would have made it safer but where's the fun in that? The radial arm has a table with a fence. I just picked a distance in from the edge of the wood and cut. Anywhere was fine I just needed a meaty center ridge to nail the pieces to my...

    DIY Cree Eave Lighting

Main reason for getting in the attic is to hide as much wiring as possible. There was no place to hide wires on the 4 lights up to the front door. Drilling and crawling wasn't too bad. Hardest part was fitting me and my tools while not falling through the ceiling.

    DIY Cree Eave Lighting

We ordered the LED's from cutter.au. At check out you can pick your tint, star (yes/no and size), and bin. They have a cree data sheet on their site so you get an idea of what color each bin gave. I have no idea that bin or color code these are. I do know they are a tad cooler than 3000k...

    DIY Cree Eave Lighting

The PVC tubes are kind of hard to explain. The PVC piece is a reducer from Home Depot. Inside of the reducer is a copper tube with a copper cap on the end. The tube is longer than it needs to be but I wanted to make sure I had enough heat sink that is exposed to the air. These LED's barely get...
