PR Base LED Bulbs - Dead?

Whatever happened to PR base LED bulbs? I know most flashaholics have switched to something that doesn't use them but Joe Q Public still has plenty of them. It seems like the format has died and the few that are still available are crazy expensive for what they are or use ancient LEDs. I would...

    LX2 Really Is Waterproof

I think you guys missed the most interesting part of the OP. Apparently his hot tub was 3 meters deep! Sounds quite dangerous for those who drink and soak...

    the most loved emitter

I just finally got around to updating my Fenix L1P with a Seoul USWOH that I purchased 3 years ago and a DX driver. I can't believe how good this emitter looks. Definitely one of the whitest, nicest look beams I've ever seen. I'm sure the efficiency is nothing compared to the newest emitters but...

Need a really cheap AAA keychain Flashlight (2 choices so far)

How are you holding the light? The low of the ITP is more than adequate for reading. In fact, some people think it is too bright.

    LEO looking for your recommendations

Just thinking aloud here but I can't imagine that the HDS Clicky could be quickly deployed since it has a bezel up configuration. Is there any way to do a bezel down clip?

Suggestions for a Smallish EDC pocket carry?

Unless you have a specific purpose in mind, I find that a modern AAA Cree keychain light is all that I need in my daily life. I only grab something else if I know I will be out at night and have a specific need for one (such as at a bonfire party).

Best illegal lights (relax- not for street-for night racing)

How about toning down the attitude a little bit? To the OP, why reinvent the wheel? I know you say you don't like large lights but that's what gets the job done better than anything else. Just look at rally cars. There's a reason why they run 6 or more Hella 4000 HIDs even with the huge budgets...

    Detachable Lanyards

I was boxing up my Jetbeam for sale and I rediscovered that it came with a detachable lanyard. I remember seeing it when I first got the light and not thinking much of it. I've changed my opinion and now I think it could be quite useful. I tend to like lanyards for going on walks or when I...

Best D Cell Light??? Need Replacement for Husky 200

How do you use the light? Do you need lots of throw or lots of flood? How long is a reasonable amount of time between battery changes? Do you carry it with you all night? What is your budget? You guys are slipping. Nobody asked the OP any questions to clarify what kind of light he's looking...

Improving heat sinking on P60 style drop ins.

It depends on the brand of pop. If it is Coke, especially Coke Zero, you might have some problems. However, if it is Pepsi, you'll be good to go. Also, from what I understand, if you use a beer can instead of a pop can, it seems to work better.

I remember that thread. Just as hilarious today as it was then.

Anyone notice a change in iTP A3?

If you really don't want it, I'll take it. I'll give you what you paid for it.

Magnet in a flashlight bad for your health?

Except that the iron in your blood, what tiny amount there is, is not ferromagnetic. Any magnet that you can fit in your hand is not going to affect the body. Devices that might affect the body are huge and use alternating fields not a small, weak constant field. Oh, and while I have the...

When does a flashlight simply become a host?

I made my view clear on the other thread but I would add that I think it might be useful to refer to anything that can handle these sized drop-ins as a 6P-type flashlight. The 6P can certainly get the honor of the name because it was the first (I think). If we did that, I think it makes a whole...

    Zebralight SC51 (XP-G R4) & SC50w (XP-E Neutral) 1xAA Reviews: RUNTIMES, BEAMSHOTS +

Re: Zebralight SC51 (XP-G R4) & SC50w (XP-E Neutral) 1xAA Reviews: RUNTIMES, BEAMSHOT I was looking at this again and I still find it crazy. I don't get how ZL is able to achieve this performance with a PWM circuit when Fenix, Quark, and others use a current regulated design which to the best...
