Thanks for the review and the nice words... and we'll certainly consider your input regarding the rim... even though its unlikely that we do another round of those lights.. with 80 parts its just very complex to manage production assembly etc... so the few we have left is likely gonna be it...
This light unfortunately missed out on the real improvements... they focus too much on the 90 seconds.. which is nice but not mission critical. There's better use cases if that light would have been designed just a bit better...
Hmm... an 18650 V4 model.. that would require longer carbon fiber pieces and bars. Wouldn't bee too hard to do... if we do another round of GatLights... which is unlikely... we might run a few extra longer parts for the carbon fiber and the tubes.
We have a few ideas.. but first need to do...
We've been looking into building a supercap lights for probably 2 years now.. and have looked at options to make them work. With a bunch of supercap units.
The main problem seemed that you get about 10% of the power you get in a battery, so even though they are light, they get bulky and big and...
Just as a brainstorming session...
I was thinking it would be fun to design / build a non electric flashlight, kind of antique, either candle or oil powered... similar to the automatic (non electrical) high end Swiss watches...
The question is what to do, how should it look like, in an ideal...
Ok time for an update to this post here
Well we certainly try to do that. In terms of UI I think the GatLight really shines compared to other lights .
Regarding the brightness changes you observed that seems to me out of the ordinary and not typical. Please contact me using our web form...
Hi guys... well Polaris... don't think we'll build that one the way it is here.. but we've had some ideas that pickup on the transparency thing... but in a different form... then again as a manufacturer you need to kind of stay true to your brand.. the same way all porsches look like porsches...
Holy wow it has been a while since I checked here.. (got more time again to participate now...)... Wade those pics are simply stunning.
Thanks a lot for letting us use those... I think we'll do a major update on our website and use your pics while throwing ours out... I'll gladly put a...
Alright time to CLOSE this competition, Congratulation to WadeF , send me an email to infos aat Lumencraft.net (or use the contact form on Lumencraft.net) and I'll email you a coupon back to order a free light from our store.
And where's that 3rd Gat in the picture.. I can only see 2?
thanks for your comments flea_bag. The slight brightness change is probably due to temperature. If you increase brightness, that means more heat to the LED. Since the LED has a lower temperature it might appear a bit brighter.. then as the LED stabalizes at the new heat level (the brightness...
I think the ideal would be CF tubing the same as in the back I think that would look pretty hot. I'll have to check and see if we have some of that material left. But there might be other creative solutions out there.
Reducing the sensitivity of the dimming - do you mean that more rotation is...
