OH MAN IT'S COLD!!
actually, for me, the remarkable aspect of seriously cold temperatures, such as -30F to -40F, is how far sounds can travel. many years back I went for walks in -30F to -35F, and a few times as a teenager in -40F temps. it is amazing what you can hear and how far away that vehicle or aircraft... -

yup, 3 shift work for many years in the military has the same effect: days-swings-mids etc. will 'cure' anyone of thinking that they are supposed to sleep 8 hrs straight! as a result, I can usually sleep anytime, but I never sleep 8 hours straight. I might be good for 3 hrs straight of sleep. -
