Fenix PD31 or 4Sevens Quark 123.2 for a newbie?
mrlysle, "However, it took some diffusion film on the PD31 to get rid of the extremely "ringy" beam." I too just got my PD31 from LightHound and note the "ringy beam pattern and great output. Lurveleven, I believe the XeRay 35w will perform as well as the Polarion 35w. The basis for my conclusion is the SLIII photos of XeRay 50w and Polarion 35w. There is no information (photo) which contradicts this conclusion, and the basis for my assertion is the photo which shows the 35w...- moonkat

Curtis, Please note that your runtime numbers of 108 Polarion and 95 XeRay are for 35w Polarion and 50w XeRay. The 35w XeRay will likely provide 150 minutes runtime (high side of manufacturers estimates) so the comparison is really 108 vs 150 minutes. Yes, I agonized over this.- moonkat
