    I don't think there would be too much of a problem with current and the switch; Solarforce rates most of their switches for 3A, which is what I think most XM-L dropins will draw. I'd guess the battery is the source of your problems.

    Problem solved: I had forgotten that the Predator has a battery selection option in the setup menu. After navigating through the menu with the help of this excellent guide by petrev, I selected the 18650 setting and all of my problems went away.
